Mark Rudan's side made light work of NPL Victoria team Caroline Spring Georges Cross in front of more than 3000 fans at City Vista Sports Precinct in Fraser Rise.
The honour of the club's first goal went to 24-year-old attacker Valentino Yuel who netted with a bullet header 35 minutes into the match.
Connor Pain, Dylan Pierias and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos also found the back of the net in a succesusful showing for the A-League's new boys.
Western United's fans had the chance to witness star imports Panagiotis Kone and Alessandro Diamanti in action with the pair named in the starting line-up while defender Ersan Gulum had the honour of captaining the team for the first time.
Their first A-League fixture will be on Sunday October 13 when they head across the Tasman to take on Rudan's former club Wellington Phoenix at Sky Sports Stadium.
