Van Persie puts off future talk

Arsenal captain Robin van Persie insists he will not let talk of his future distract him from EURO 2012, although he has described one of his suitors, Juventus, as a 'great team'.

Van Persie enjoyed a stellar year at Arsenal, scoring 37 goals to help the London side turn around its season and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Recent talks over an extension to his current contract, which expires next northern summer, failed and he has been coveted by Europe's top teams, including Juve, Barcelona and Premier League champion Manchester City.

Van Persie has agreed to not speak about his plans for next season until after EURO 2012, but the Netherlands hitman praised Italian champion Juventus, telling Italian website Tuttosport: "Juve? They are a great team, of course.

"I agreed not to discuss my future with Arsenal.

"I can only say that my intention is to play in the European Championship. And then go on to win the Champions League."
