Valencia has signed Mexico midfielder Andres Guardado from Deportivo La Coruna on a four-year deal.
Guardado helped Deportivo win the second division to return to top-flight football one season after being relegated.
The 25-year-old played five seasons for Deportivo after joining from Mexican club Guadalajara.
Guardado has made 77 appearances for Mexico.
He says he is motivated to play in the UEFA Champions League next season and is eager to compete for a starting place, 'which means you have to be at your best, always'.
Valencia finished third in the Spanish league to earn a spot in the Champions League group stage next season.
