Struggling Servette stuns Sion

Last-placed Servette pulled off one of the shocks of the Swiss Super League season by stunning European hopeful Sion 4-0 at the Stade de Genevre.

Sebastien Fournier's struggler had not won by more than two goals in four previous victories but early strikes from Mathias Vitkieviez (two minutes) and Geoffrey Treand (19) saw the Geneva club well on top at the break.

Goran Karanovic then used the second half to bag a brace with goals in the 55th and 68th minutes to lift Servette within a point of ninth-placed Lausanne - which hosts Servette next week.

To add insult to injury, the surprise defeat leaves fifth-placed Sion facing an uphill battle to wrest the final UEFA Europa League qualifying berth from FC Zurich, which is four points better off.
