The prolific Polish striker has enjoyed a meteoric rise this season, scoring 27 goals in 30 matches in Italy, after being plucked by Genoa from the relative obscurity of the Polish Ekstraklasa.
Yesterday the 23-year-old revealed he was a fan of Premier League side Arsenal.
“I was an Arsenal fan growing up," he told Tuttosport.
"I really liked Wenger’s style of play and I admired champions like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
When asked about his unique goal celebration, he said: “I did my ‘pistolero’ celebration after I scored a goal and then it stayed. Now it represents a lucky charm for me.
“I’ve seen how people in Italy have gone mad about this celebration.
Genoa’s a city where I felt good. In particular I loved the sea, the mild climate and good food.”
Piatek will lead the line for the Rossoneri in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter Milan on Monday morning (AEDT).
