Norwegian club Brann have blocked an attempt by Leeds United to give promising young striker Thorstein Helstad a trial in a reserve team match this week.
Leeds have been long-time admirers of the 23-year-old international, who scored for Norway in a World Cup qualifier against Wales in October.
Helstad also finished last season as the Norwegian League?s top scorer with 18 goals and is rumoured to have attracted the interest of other European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.
On the subject of Leeds? planned trial for the striker on Thursday night, Brann?s chairman Bjorn Dahl announced: ?He will not be playing against Sheffield Wednesday. We did not have an agreement (with Leeds) done in time.
?Leeds are a really nice club,? he continued. ?We really want to keep up the connection with Leeds as in a year or two we may be doing business with them."
