Melbourne City have signed former Western Sydney defender Scott Jamieson on a four-year deal.
Former Socceroos defender Scott Jamieson has joined Melbourne City in his return to the A-League after a year-long stint in Europe.
The 28-year-old left Australia for Swedish giants IFK Gothenburg after playing for Western Sydney in the grand-final loss to Adelaide United last year.
He joins last year's FFA Cup winners City on a four-year deal.
Left-footer Jamieson, who has four Australian caps, made 13 appearances in Sweden's top-flight Allsvenskan.
New City coach Warren Joyce said Jamieson's A-League experience with the Wanderers, Perth Glory, Sydney FC and Adelaide was a drawcard.
"We've identified the need for a left-sided player who can fit our system and Scott not only possesses the right experience in this league, but also a strong determination and attitude that will complement the character of our squad," Joyce said.
Jamieson joins goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic as City's key signings for the off-season, while Paulo Retre, Thomas Sorensen and Corey Gameiro are among those to depart.
