    • KICK OFF
    • 90'
FT - Watford 1-1 Everton. Not the win either side wanted, but neither can have too many complaints with a point apiece.
    • 90'
Watford counter, with Ighalo. He shoots from distance, but Joel gathers comfortably.
    • 45'
      G J. Holebas Assist B. Watson
    • 45'
HT - Watford 1-1 Everton. After 45 uninspiring minutes, we've had two goals in stoppage time at the end of the half. Poor defending, but some excitement at last.
    • 45'
Goal José Holebas - A mistake at the other end and a goal at the other end. Joel concedes a corner after Stones' dallying, and Holebas heads in at the back post. He'd given Everton a warning just minutes earlier, but it clearly wasn't heeded.
    • 45'
      Assist Ben Watson
    • 90'
Barry is completely unmarked from the subsequent free kick, but he nods tamely across goal into Gomes' hands.
    • 90'
Yellow card Odion Jude Ighalo - Ighalotracks all the way back into his own half, successfully disrupting play, but collecting a caution.
    • 45'
      G J. McCarthy Assist B. Watson
    • 45'
Goal James McCarthy - Oh dear, Britos. McCarthy has been involved in everything in the last few minutes, and he scores now after a terrible error. The Uruguayan defender is far too casual on the ball, McCarthy shrugs him off and slots a finish past Gomes.
    • 90'
CHANCE - Joel has had a quiet second half, but he does brilliantly to palm Watson's deflected effort around the post late on here. Great goalkeeping.
    • 0'
Watford travel to West Brom next, while Everton go to Crystal Palace. That's all for this afternoon. Goodbye!
    • 0'
Perhaps most concerningly for Everton - and England - was Phil Jagielka's withdrawal late in the second half. He left clutching his hamstring.
    • 0'
Both goalkeepers were required to make a few decent saves in the second period, but it stayed 1-1, leaving the two sides in the bottom half.
    • 0'
James McCarthy fired Everton ahead in first half stoppage time, but Jose Holebas offered an immediate response at the other end.
    • 0'
Adlene Guedioura appears to be coming on for Watford. He's on the pitch ahead of his teammates.
    • 0'
The players are making their way back onto the pitch, and we're almost ready for kick-off.
    • 0'
Both teams had been suffering somewhat of a goal drought, and for 45 minutes there appeared little hope of a change. Perhaps in the second half we'll see strikes that don't rely heavily on defensive mishaps.
    • 0'
Prior to those two goals, decent strikes from Jurado and Deulofeu at either end, along with Holebas' prior header, had been the only action of note. It's been a pretty quiet game, as the form card suggested.
    • 0'
There are the usual smattering of "Martinez out" banners in the away end at Vicarage Road, as well as one stating: "Baines is one of us". The England international apologised to his Everton teammates this week for his previous critical comments.
    • 0'
Their last win here, a 3-0 success in February 2007, came courtesy of strikes from Manuel Fernandes, Andy Johnson and Leon Osman.
    • 0'
The two teams have just emerged from the tunnel - they drew 2-2 at Goodison Park on the opening day, but Everton have won five consecutive games at Vicarage Road.
    • 0'
Elsewhere, Martinez told a press conference: "Clearly the hype that we had on achieving a place in the semi-final of the FA Cup has affected results in the Premier League. It is up to us now to take responsibility and make sure we get as many points as we can."
    • 0'
Earlier in the week, Flores told Hornets PlayerHD: "Nobody is happy in the club, in the squad, in the staff with our last performance [a 4-0 defeat at Arsenal]. It was a soft and light performance so we know perfectly well we need to change."
    • 0'
In slightly more optimistic news, however, Watford have only ever kept one clean sheet against Everton. That's not what Hornets fans want to hear, but we might just see some goalmouth action today.
    • 0'
The two teams have one league goal between them in the last month - Troy Deeney's consolation for Watford at Stoke on March 19. This could be fun...
    • 0'
A large part of Watford's problem of late has been Odion Ighalo's stuttering form. He's currently on an eight-game scoring drought in the league.
    • 0'
Roberto Martinez, meanwhile, welcomes Gareth Barry back from suspension in his only switch - the former England midfielder replacing Tom Cleverley.
    • 0'
So, after four consecutive defeats in the league, Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores makes five changes. In come Juan Carlos Parades, Miguel Britos, Jose Holebas, Valon Behrami and Jose Manuel Jurado for Allan Nyom, Sebastian Prodl, Nathan Ake, Almen Abdi and Mario Suarez.
    • 0'
Subs: Howard, Funes More, Oviedo, Cleverley, Mirallas, Kone, Niasse.
    • 0'
Everton: Joel, Coleman, Stones, Jagielka, Baines, Barry, McCarthy, Deulofeu, Barkley, Lennon, Lukaku.
    • 0'
Subs: Pantilimon, Nyom, Prodl, Suarez, Guedioura, Abdi, Amrabat.
    • 0'
Watford: Gomes, Paredes, Britos, Cathcart, Holebas, Capoue, Watson, Behrami, Jurado, Deeney, Ighalo.
    • 0'
Both sides have struggled in 2016, tumbling into the bottom half, with Watford (14th) one point behind Everton (12th). It is worth noting, though, that these are two FA Cup semi-finalists.
    • 0'
Hello and welcome to our LIVE text commentary of Watford against Everton in the Premier League at Vicarage Road.
    • 1'
And so Lukaku and Barkley get us underway, with Everton kicking from left to right in their usual blue shirts and white shorts against Watford's traditional yellow and black.
    • 4'
It's been a relatively slow start here with both teams working their way into the game. We're still waiting on our first chance.
    • 7'
In the opening stages players on either side have wasted possession in good areas with a poor final ball. Paredes is the latest culprit, hammering a cross into the nearest defender.
    • 8'
A first sight of goal for Everton. Lukaku helps the ball on to Barkley, whose cross is cut out just ahead of Deulofeu's run. Better from the visitors.
    • 9'
Watson attracts the referee's attention with a late lunge on halfway, but there's no card for the Watford midfielder.
    • 11'
Nervy moments at either end now. First Coleman tumbles under Holebas' challenge, but there's no foul given. Gomes takes the subsequent goal-kick, with Deeney's flick-on almost falling for Ighalo in the box. Baines was there to clear up.
    • 13'
Yellow card Etienne Capoue - Capoue manages to injure himself in fouling McCarthy. He's back on the pitch though after seeing the physio.
    • 14'
From the subsequent free kick, Everton attack down the left and Deulofeu wins a corner. He takes it himself, but it's easily cleared.
    • 17'
CHANCE - Finally a first effort on goal. Jurado executes a lovely turn on the edge of the area, before blasting towards the top corner. Joel brilliantly tips the ball away for a corner, from which Watford concede a foul. Some action at last.
    • 19'
CHANCE - The Watford fans aren't happy. The referee blocks Watson at one end, and Everton counter. Deulofeu cuts inside and powers a shot at goal, but Gomes confidently beats the strike away.
    • 22'
Jurado is the star of the show so far for Watford with a couple of nice tricks, but Deeney is the man causing Everton's defence most problems. He's a real presence in the air.
    • 24'
Lukaku, on the other hand, has been starved of the ball. He responds by collecting possession on halfway, throwing a defender with a stepover and blazing into the stands from 30 yards.
    • 26'
Ighalo looks a man short on confidence. He's set away down the right for Deeney, and there's perhaps a chance to shoot. Instead he delays and wins a corner.
    • 27'
Deeney again in the air worrying Everton. The corner is delivered from the right, reaches the Watford captain at the back post and he loops a header back towards goal. Everton just about clear though.
    • 28'
Deulofeu delays a cross moments earlier when Lukaku had made a good run, but Watford are getting the ball into the box at every opportunity. This time it breaks for Watson, but he drags a shot straight at Joel.
    • 30'
A half-chance for Everton though. Lennon nips in ahead of Paredes from a cross-field ball, but he loses his footing when he could have ran through on goal.
    • 30'
Yet another Everton corner comes to nothing when Baines is caught offside in the second phase. Watford are using the ball more effectively here.
    • 32'
And following that slip, Watford should counter. Ighalo and Deeney had teammates joining them in attack, but the game is pulled back for their own free kick. Frustration for the home crowd.
    • 32'
Deulofeu is always an outlet for the visitors. He accelerates into the Watford half, shapes to shoot and ... falls over the ball. That sums up this opening half an hour nicely.
    • 34'
Now Deeney puts the Everton back-line under pressure as he runs in behind, but again he's called back. This time for an incorrect offside call. Understandably, Watford aren't happy.
    • 37'
Watford take their time to clear a Baines free kick, and when the ball eventually comes back into the area, Barkley controls and shoots into Gomes' arms. He might have done better there.
    • 38'
Everton had a half-hearted appeal for a penalty in the build-up to that effort, as Barry fell under pressure from Britos. No foul says the referee.
    • 41'
Everton have bossed the last 10 minutes, but Jurado gets in down the left. His cross, though, runs through to Joel.
    • 42'
Half an opening for Ighalo now, but he shoots wide. The free-scoring forward of the season's opening months has been missing here.
    • 43'
Yellow card James McCarthy - The Irishman crashes in on Deeney. The challenge looked high, but referee Kevin Friend is happy with a yellow.
    • 45'
CHANCE - McCarthy immediately concedes another foul, this time a handball on the edge of the box. Jurado's free kick is disappointing, striking the wall, but it falls for Capoue to smash a strike behind via a deflection. From the corner Holebas gets up, but nods wide.
    • 46'
SI A. Guédioura SO B. Watson
    • 46'
Guedioura is immediately involved, picking out Ighalo, but it's brought back - seemingly for a foul - and Everton recover.
    • 46'
Substitution Valon Behrami Adlène Guédioura - Behrami had been somewhat anonymous on his return. On comes Guedioura.
    • 46'
Watford get us back under way. One change for them, none for Everton.
    • 48'
Everton immediately attack again, through Deulofeu. He had an opportunity to pull the ball back for a teammate, but instead drilled a low ball towards Lukaku and it's cleared.
    • 48'
Barkley holds off a couple of challenges as he makes his way into the area. His cross is deflected behind though, and the corner is cleared.
    • 50'
Watford put Everton under an extended spell of pressure, but the visitors clear time and time again, before drawing a foul from Watson.
    • 53'
Baines' cross isn't cleared and Deulofeu dances the ball through to Lennon. The former Tottenham winger cuts inside, shoots, but his strike is deflected wide. From the corner, Watford counter, but Barry is back to tidy up.
    • 55'
CHANCE - Great goalkeeping from Gomes! Lennon is suddenly a threat. He cuts inside, scuffs a low shot towards the corner and Gomes does well to save. The Brazilian then does even better to claw the rebound away from the onrushing Lukaku
    • 57'
Watford have the opportunity to shoot from distance with a dead-ball, but Holebas fires straight into the wall. Easy for Everton to clear.
    • 58'
Brilliant run from Guedioura, who skips past challenge after challenge. The move eventually peters out though, when Jurado can't pick out a yellow shirt with his cross.
    • 59'
SI N. Amrabat SO B. Watson
    • 59'
Substitution José Manuel Jurado Marín Nordin Amrabat - Jurado was bright for a spell in the first half, but hasn't been involved since. Perhaps Amrabat can fire Watford ahead.
    • 60'
Everton break at pace. Lukaku to Deulofeu and the Spaniard appears to be in on the right. As so often though, he delays and eventually his prod is easy pickings for Gomes.
    • 63'
Deeney holds the ball up well again, winning a free kick from Jagielka, but again it's wasted - Holebas whipping the set-piece high and wide.
    • 65'
SI T. Cleverley SO B. Watson
    • 65'
Substitution Ross Barkley Tom Cleverley - Not the England midfielder's best afternoon. Barkley never really got involved.
    • 65'
Deeney's played well today, but it's his turn to waste a half-opening. He has a chance to cross from just inside the area, overhitting his delivery horribly.
    • 67'
Deulofeu has repeatedly failed to deliver from the right, Coleman takes the other route and clears his cross out for a goal kick. A second opportunity ends with a poor effort from Deulofeu.
    • 70'
Coleman gets to the byline again with a charging run. He does well, but this time his centre finds Gomes' gloves. Simple for the Brazilian.
    • 71'
CHANCE - Lovely from Lukaku. He draws the defender, dummies and tees up Lennon with a back-heel. As earlier in the half, the winger fires across goal, but Gomes is there again to parry. Cleverley's corner comes to nothing.
    • 75'
Stones again needlessly gives the ball away, allowing Amrabat to play Capoue in down the left. The Frenchman takes too long to deliver though, is challenged by McCarthy, and now lies apparently injured on the turf.
    • 77'
Capoue is back on his feet and on the field. Both teams seem relatively happy with a point at this stage - their league statuses are preserved and there's a semi-final to come in the FA Cup.
    • 78'
SI K. Mirallas SO B. Watson
    • 78'
Substitution Gerard Deulofeu Lázaro Kevin Mirallas - While Deulofeu has at least been involved, his final ball, or lack of, has been really poor. He's replaced by Mirallas.
    • 80'
Stones dives in on Ighalo... and gets the ball. Just. He was the last man and has been disappointing this afternoon, but he got this one right.
    • 82'
SI Mario Suárez SO B. Watson
    • 82'
Substitution Etienne Capoue Mario Suárez Mata - Perhaps a precaution, but Capoue was still moving gingerly after his earlier fall. No need to risk him with that FA Cup game to come.
    • 84'
Mirallas and Cleverley take turns to cross, with the former finally forcing Gomes to punch away. A winner looks unlikely here.
    • 87'
CHANCE - Lukaku hits the bar! Mirallas wins a free-kick with a neat chop past Watson. He then takes the free-kick which Gomes parries, and Lukaku's follow-up squirms up against the face of the cross-bar. Paredes did well to put him under pressure, but that was a chance.
    • 89'
CHANCE - Lukaku again! The Everton man steps away from Cathcart and a cross from the right reaches him. Unmarked, centre of goal, he nods straight at Gomes.
    • 90'
SI Ramiro Funes Mori SO B. Watson
    • 90'
Four minutes to be added - can anyone find a winner?
    • 90'
Substitution Phil Jagielka José Ramiro Funes Mori - England defender Jagielka goes off clutching his hamstring. A concern ahead of the Euros...
