Both sets of players head down the tunnel for the half-time interval with United in front by one goal to nil at the break. Depay fired home from a beautiful Herrera cross after 11 minutes and the Dutchman's strike has the sides separated at the moment.

Good afternoon and welcome to our LIVE text commentary on today's Premier League clash between Watford and Manchester United from Vicarage Road. I'm Matthew Judge and I will be your host for the match, which kicks off at 12:45pm.
    • 1'
Watford get us under way here at Vicarage Road. The man in charge of the cards for today's affair is Robert Madley.
    • 3'
CHANCE! Herrera picks up a loose ball as Anya heads away Depay's cross and as the Spaniard's shot gets deflected off Britos, Nyom slices his clearance just over his own crossbar. Corner to United.
    • 5'
Lingard chases a long ball forward from Jones as Anya clears away the danger. It appears that United have gone with two up front this afternoon with Depay also deployed as a forward.
    • 7'
Young, against his former club, drives down the right-hand side past several Watford players but as he looks to pick out a United team mate with a cross, he overcooks his ball in as the hosts win a throw-in.
    • 9'
After a really fast start from both teams, United have began to settle now and are knocking the ball around well. Watford, as they have showed many times this term, look comfortable without possession at the moment.
    • 11'
G M. Depay Assist Ander Herrera
    • 11'
The assist came from Ander Herrera.
    • 11'
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!! It’s 0-1 to United. Herrera picks up the ball deep inside Watford’s half and curls in a magnificent cross from the right towards Depay, who ghosts in behind the hosts’ backline and finishes superbly into the top corner first time.
    • 13'
Cathcart plays a long punt forward from defence towards Ighalo who drops deep to try and receive the pass, but falls down under pressure from Smalling and wins his side a free-kick.
    • 15'
Mata receives the ball from Blind inside Watford's half but he takes too long to get it out of his feet as Watson makes an intervention. Herrera quickly puts pressure on him, though, and forces the Hornets to go backwards.
    • 17'
Depay feeds a ball out wide to Blind and the Holland international smashes in a good, low cross towards the middle of the box which Capoue just about snuffs away from danger with Mata lurking.
    • 19'
Schweinsteiger switches play with a lovely cross-field ball out to Young, who sends in a cracking cross towards Lingard at the near post but Britos heads out of bounds for a corner to the visitors.
    • 21'
CHANCE! Deeney steals the ball off Young inside Watford's half and surges forward on the couner attack. The skipper plays a pass lacking weight towards Ighalo, who still manages to spin Schweinsteiger brilliantly but he strikes the side netting.
    • 23'
Schweinsteiger rolls the ball to Blind who passes it straight out for a Watford throw-in. The Dutchman signals for a suspension in play as Herrera looks in pain and might need to come off for United.
    • 25'
SI M. Rojo SO Ander Herrera
    • 25'
Van Gaal gets forced into making his first change of the game for United as Herrera, who started the game well by setting up Depay for his goal, requests to come off injured. Rojo replaces him as the visitors switch to a back three.
    • 25'
Blind, who started the game as a left-back, shifts to a wing-back as Rojo comes on for Herrera and becomes a third centre-back. Mata makes up a midfield three with Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger as Depay and Lingard stay up front.
    • 27'
CLOSE! Schneiderlin moves into a great bit of space inside Watford's penalty area and gives Smalling the shout to leave the ball as he powers an effort just over the crossbar from close range. Great effort.
    • 29'
Rojo mistimes his attempted clearance and that sets Deeney off on his bike down the flank. The Argentina international recovers slightly as he forces the Watford man to drive a shot at Smalling, but it rebounds off himself for a United goal-kick.
    • 31'
ALMOST 0-2! Mata bends in a fizzing corner from the right towards the near post which Deeney heads behind him and sees the ball fly narrowly away from nestling into his own goal.
    • 33'
Watford have started to grow into proceedings in the last five minutes or so after United dominated the early stages of the first half for long spells. The Hornets are getting their wide players, particularly down the left flank, involved a lot more.
    • 35'
JUST OVER! Nyom nicks the ball away from Blind and sends in a cross towards the back post, which Jones clears. The ball sits up for Capoue but he smashes an effort well over the crossbar from just outside the box.
    • 37'
Blind sends in another decent cross towards Mata, who makes good tracks into the box and cleverly flicks the ball over the top of Watson but he shows too much of it to Gomes. Unlucky.
    • 39'
Depay wins a corner for United as he forces a good save from Gomes but he fails to put it in the box and instead goes backwards to Blind. The ball eventually finds its way to Mata who tries to pick out Lingard inside the penalty area but Capoue clears the danger.
    • 41'
Blind plays a through ball looking for Lingard who chases it down and forces Gomes to head backwards as Britos smashes it out for a Red Devils throw-in. The United man's runs have been terrific so far today.
    • 43'
CLOSE! Gomes makes a woeful clearance as he drives it straight to Depay, who picks up the ball inside Watford's half. The former PSV Eindhoven youngster tries to play in Mata but the official on that side of the pitch raises his flag for offside to deny the Spaniard.
    • 45'
Watson curls in a Watford corner but Jones clears away the ball. Lingard tries to create a counter attack for United as he feeds in Mata down the left, but the former Chelsea man gifts Capoue possession with a poor pass looking for Young.
    • 46'
SI N. Aké SO Ander Herrera
    • 46'
Flores makes his first change of the game for Watford as he takes off Jurado, who has been short of match fitness recently, and replaces him with Ake for the second period. The Chelsea loanee switches to left-back as Anya goes to right wing.
    • 46'
Welcome back! United get us under way again for the second half here at Vicarage Road.
    • 47'
SAVE! Capoue gives the ball away in the middle of the park and that allows Depay to create a breakaway for United. He slips a clever pass out wide towards Lingard who runs through on goal, but sees his effort diverted behind by Gomes. Great goalkeeping.
    • 49'
Anya surges forward down the right and digs out a cross out above Blind, but the ball flies too close to De Gea who comes off his goal line and collects it with relative ease.
    • 51'
Mata nicks the ball away from Ake and feeds in Jones, who marauds forward from right-back and tries to test Gomes from distance but his shot deflects off Capoue and goes into the arms of the Watford shot-stopper.
    • 52'
Depay picks up the ball down the left-hand side from a short Mata free-kick and as he dips inside onto his right foot, he sends a shot well wide of the target from distance.
    • 54'
Mata plays in a curling corner towards the near post as Schweinsteiger gets away from Abdi, but the German guides his header into the stands behind the goal from close range.
    • 56'
GOOD SAVE! Ighalo keeps Ake's low cross from the left alive as he touches it backwards to an onrushing Deeney, who drills a powerful shot down the throat of De Gea as the Spaniard makes a solid stop between the sticks.
    • 58'
BLOCK! Capoue gets across his marker and flicks on a corner from the right towards Ighalo, who tries to test De Gea with an effort but Schneiderlin gets his body in the way importantly.
    • 60'
Watson runs forward with the ball at his feet through the middle of the park unmarked but as he winds up a shot towards goal, Smalling makes a good block deep inside his own half.
    • 62'
It's still quite an even game at the moment here at Vicarage Road. Watford have huffed and puffed a few times around United's box, though the visitors have had the best chance to score in the second half so far.
    • 64'
Mata picks up the ball in the centre of the pitch and sprays a good pass out wide towards Depay. The former Valencia man has been superb today by dictating United's attacking play regularly.
    • 66'
CLOSE! Lingard steals the ball away from Anya and sets up a United break through Mata. The Spaniard plays it sideways to Depay, who shifts the ball from right to left inside the box and sends a shot just wide of the far post.
    • 68'
Watson becomes the first man to get his name taken by the referee for a cynical foul in the middle of the park. The Watford midfielder clips Young from behind and sends the winger tumbling to the floor.
    • 68'
Jones signals to the United bench that he can't continue as Van Gaal gets forced into making yet another change this afternoon, having previously had to replace Herrera with Rojo in the first half.
    • 69'
SI P. McNair SO Ander Herrera
    • 69'
SI J. Paredes SO Ander Herrera
    • 69'
Flores makes his second change of the game for Watford this afternoon as he takes off Nyom, who really struggled at times today, and replaces him with usual substitute Paredes just after the hour mark.
    • 69'
Van Gaal makes his second substitution of the match for United as Jones requests to be taken off with a foot injury. McNair runs on in his place and takes up the same position as a third centre-back for the visitors.
    • 70'
GREAT SAVE! Abdi collects the ball inside United's half and as his shot deflects off Smalling at the near post, De Gea gets down to his right wonderfully and tips it around for a corner to the hosts.
    • 72'
Abdi picks up the ball again down the left wing and sees a cross take a nick off Schneiderlin and into the arms of De Gea. The Watford man is starting to get more involved now after a very quiet 65 minutes or so.
    • 74'
Young goes into the referee’s book for repeating a challenge which he suffered just minutes before. Paredes tries to break forward on the counter attack for Watford but the United winger clips him from behind.
    • 74'
CLOSE! Ighalo skips away from Smalling inside United's penalty area and feeds in Deeney, who again drives a shot straight down the middle of De Gea. If the Watford striker picks out a corner of the goal, his attempts are so powerful that they're likely to go in.
    • 75'
Lingard becomes the second United player to receive a booking in a matter of minutes as he stops Watford playing a quick free-kick after a Young foul earlier. The referee spots it straight away and takes the in-form attacker’s name.
    • 76'
It's all Watford at the moment as Flores' men continue to push many numbers forward in search of that crucial equaliser. United need to get back on the ball and slow the game down.
    • 78'
Depay dips inside onto his right foot inside Watford's penalty area but as he sends in a cross towards Lingard, Catchcart blocks it into the arms of Gomes inside the six-yard box.
    • 79'
SI Andreas Pereira SO Ander Herrera
    • 79'
Van Gaal makes his third and final change of the game for United as he takes off Mata, who was superb today for the Red Devils, and replaces him with youngster Pereira as time ticks on in the second half.
    • 80'
Young hits the deck wincing in pain and it looks as though the United winger might need to come off now. The visitors have already made all three substitutes and really need the former Watford man to get back on his feet.
    • 82'
Deeney holds the ball up well just outside the United penalty area and as he tries to play in Ighalo alongside him, Schweinsteiger reads the danger well and clears up the pitch.
    • 84'
BIG CHANCE! Lingard passes up the chance to wrap up the three points for the visitors as he latches onto Blind's excellent pass but fails to test Gomes deep inside Watford's half.
    • 85'
PENALTY TO WATFORD! Ighalo tries to hold the ball up inside United's box and he falls down under a silly challenge from Rojo. The referee points straight to the spot.
    • 87'
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLLL!! It’s 1-1 and Watford are back level! Deeney makes no mistake from the spot as he lashes the ball home above De Gea. Vicarage Road erupts as the Hornets skipper finally breaks his duck on home soil this season.
    • 89'
HUGE SAVE! Smalling runs towards the near post unmarked and cleverly clips an effort towards goal with the outside of his boot, but Gomes makes a magnificent save to his right.
    • 90'
GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!! It’s 2-1 and United have probably nicked it late on! Pereira forces a great save from Gomes but Schweinsteiger picks up the spillage and taps home via a deflection off Deeney. Heartbreaker for the hosts.
