GOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLL!! It's 2-0 to City! Bony grasps his chance to shine in Aguero's absence as he taps home inside the penalty area to make it 2-0, but it's poor from Federici. Sagna plays in a low cross which the Bournemouth goalkeeper fumbles right into the path of the City striker.
    • 13'
Otamendi's challenge after four minutes is growing in importance more and more now as City continue to dominate. They're two goals to the good but the former Valencia man made a massive challenge on Gosling, which, had it not been made or instead misplaced, could have seen a different first half pla
    • 15'
Ritchie wins a corner down the left flank off Zabaleta for Bournemouth but as the resulting set play swings in, the ball gets cleared too easily by City who can look to counter-attack now.
    • 17'
TOP SAVE! De Bruyne shifts the ball from left to right and winds up a shot from long range which gathers pace and height, but Federici makes a terrific save to his right between the sticks. Corner to the hosts.
    • 19'
Toure absolutely drills an attempted through pass between the two Bournemouth centre-backs for Sterling to get on the end of, but it trickles out of bounds for a goal-kick due to the sheer force behind it.
    • 20'
Ritchie makes a good clearance in a left-back position to prevent Navas running through on goal. Bournemouth seem to have got to grips with the game again after a rocky start.

GOOOOOOOOOOAAAAALL!! It's 2-1 and Bournemouth have a lifeline! O'Kane touches Surman's beautiful pass first time into the path of Murray, who powers a shot into the bottom corner via a slight deflection off Mangala.
    • 24'
The Cherries push for an equaliser as Francis knocks down Ritchie's corner for no takers, before the Bournemouth right-back picks out Murray for a header over the crossbar, but the official judges the former Crystal Palace striker to be offside.
    • 26'
Francis runs down the left flank and as he tries to build up a bit of speed, Sagna clips him down and hands Bournemouth a free-kick as the referee books him in the process, too.
    • 26'
CLOSE! Bournemouth work a lovely short corner as Surman plays Francis' short pass first time into the path of Ritchie down the flank, but Otamendi comes across and deals with the attack excellently.

    • 29'
GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAALLLL!! It's 3-1 to City! Sterling restores the hosts' two goal advantage as he latches onto De Bruyne's threaded through ball, skips past several Bournemouth defenders and strokes it beyond Federici calmly.
    • 31'
Surman plays in a delightful cross from a free-kick down the left-hand side towards a queue of players creeping into Hart's six-yard box, but Fernandinho heads away at the near post.
    • 33'
Smith makes tracks inside City's half and spreads play out wide to Francis powering forward from right-back, but his cross flies straight into the arms of Hart at his near post.
    • 35'
Bournemouth close off all short passing angles for Otamendi and that forces the Argentina international to pump it forward to Navas, who cleverly keeps the ball in play with a flick but the official calls him offside.
    • 37'
Smith hits the deck under a challenge from Mangala and he takes his time getting to his feet. Howe will be praying his side aren't hit with yet another injury here.
    • 39'
O'Kane plays in Gosling just outside the City box but as the former Everton midfielder tries to thread through a reverse ball, Mangala gets a block in. Bournemouth keep the attack alive, though, and have a corner.
    • 41'
The zip that was apparent in the opening half hour in this first half has faded in the last 10 minutes or so. Bournemouth are having more of the ball than most opposition sides that have come to the Etihad this season, though, and that'll give them hope of scoring a second.
    • 42'
Smith complains at the referee for more as Otamendi receives a yellow card for a wild challenge on Daniels. The City defender dives in with scissor action and it looks a bad one, even though the Bournemouth left-back gets back on his feet.
    • 43'
Man City are spraying the ball around a lot quicker now as we approach the final few minutes of normal time in the first half. A lot of their play is square at the moment and Bournemouth are happy with that. It's only when the hosts are stretching them around that problems are occuring.
    • 45'
WHAT A SAVE! De Bruyne collects Sterling's pass and ghosts beyond Francis and Cook before he unleashes a wicked shot which Federici just about tips onto the crossbar at full stretch. Top-drawer goalkeeping.

Pellegrini makes his first change of the match as he withdraws vice captain Toure during the break. Fernando runs on in his place to partner Fernandinho in midfield.
    • 46'
Welcome back! Man City get us back under way for the second half here at the Etihad with Yaya Toure coming off at the half-time interval for Fernando.
    • 48'
Sterling skips away from Francis but sees his cross fly past everybody in the penalty area. Navas keeps the ball in play, though, and sets up Zabaleta for a shot on target as Federici makes a good stop.
    • 50'
Sagna feeds a ball down the line towards the lively De Bruyne but just as the Belgium international tries to move infield, Francis brings him down for a Man City free-kick.
    • 52'
Smith gets clipped by Fernandinho and the referee hands the visitors a free-kick. Ritchie doesn't hesitate as he plays it in quickly towards Murray but Otamendi stoops low to clear well.
    • 54'
Zabaleta seizes possession in his own half and drives forward with a one-two via Navas, but his cross towards Bony inside the Bournemouth box goes too close to Surman who clears forward.
    • 56'
CHANCE! The ball sits up for Murray just outside the City penalty area but he cuts across it too much as his effort glides away from Hart between the sticks, and out for a goal-kick.
    • 57'
CLOSE! Navas picks up the ball from De Bruyne and chucks in a lovely low cross towards Bony, who wheels and fires first time but his effort goes straight down the throat of Federici.
    • 59'
Bony plays a pass beyond hat-trick hero Sterling towards the left as De Bruyne tries to bend a shot into the far corner, but Cook gets his body in the way and heads clear.
    • 61'
ALMOST! Bony again gets involved superbly in the build up as lofts a pass over the top of Cook towards an onrushing Sterling, who switches the ball onto his left but only finds the side netting with a shot.
    • 62'
SI S. Nasri SO W. Bony
    • 62'
Pellegrini rolls the dice for the second time today as De Bruyne comes off for Nasri. We're hearing that the Belgian has been taken off due to a slight knee problem.
    • 63'
How it's not five to City is a mystery as Bony plays in Sterling again, but the youngster gets caught in two minds with Fernandinho making a run alongside him and almost tries to pass it to him rather than shoot from a good position. The chance goes begging as Bournemouth escape.
    • 65'
SI S. MacDonald SO W. Bony
    • 65'
Howe makes his first change of the game as he takes off O'Kane for MacDonald. The former set up Bournemouth's only goal of the game so far and can be pleased with his contribution today, particularly in the final third.
    • 65'
Bony looks to set up Sterling making a run off the back of Cook, but the former Swansea man gets caught being too slow with his footwork as Gosling nicks the ball away from him.
    • 67'
Navas picks up Nasri's pass down the right and stands it up to the back stick towards Sterling, but Francis uses his height advantage to get effect as he heads away the danger.
    • 69'
Surman clips in a corner towards the middle of City's penalty area but Hart rushes off his line and collects comfortably. He plays a first-time punt up towards Sterling but Daniels comes across and clears the danger in the nick of time.
    • 71'
Bony holds the ball up well yet again deep into Bournemouth's half but as he tries to get his head up to play a team-mate in, Cook fouls him for a Man City free-kick.
    • 73'
Despite Sterling having a number of chances to score more, Bournemouth have stemmed the hosts' scoring as time ticks on in the second half. The Cherries look set to bring on Joshua King now.
    • 74'
SI J. King SO W. Bony
    • 74'
Howe makes his second change of the match as he takes off goalscorer Murray deep into the second half. King runs on as his replacement and goes up front.
    • 75'
Ritchie plays in a cross from the left-hand side from Smith's pass towards the City penalty area, but Otamendi clears the ball ahead of Gosling making a run into the box.
    • 77'
Man City are happy with the four today after finding their early second-half attempts to stretch their goal advantage thwarted by Bournemouth, who look as though they're going to come away from today rueing Boruc's injury before kick-off.

    • 78'
Pellegrini makes his third and final change of the match as he takes off Sterling for Iheanacho. The former receives a great reception as he heads off the pitch as he made the big difference today.
    • 79'
There isn't really an intent from City to add a fifth and the second half is therefore petering out towards its conclusion. Bournemouth are in possession now, looking to drive forward for a second.
    • 81'
Man City are singing their new song for their Argentine contingent as time ticks on in the second half. Two of them, Zabaleta and Otamendi, have been excellent today, constantly causing Bournemouth a headache at either end.
    • 83'
Daniels tries to get on the end of a pass from Francis but the ball contains too much pace as Zabaleta collects for Man City. The hosts are looking comfortable at the moment with the chances of another goal appearing slim.
    • 85'
Howe cuts a frustrated figure on the touchline. Federici has made costly errors at the back which has led to their downfall here at the Etihad, having started the better of the two teams.
    • 87'
Ritchie becomes the first Bournemouth man to get his name taken by the referee for a silly challenge in the middle of the park. It's been a quiet day in that respect for Mike Dean.
    • 87'
Francis powers forward once more and tries to bend a cross in towards the box, with King lurking, but Mangala steps across to cover for Sagna and clears the danger away.

    • 90'
POOR CALL! Bony times his pass into Iheanacho to perfection and the young striker dinks it over Federici for six, but the official on that side of the field incorrectly raises his flag for offside. Let-off for the visitors.
