The mood of the Liverpool fans has not been improved by the decision of James Milner to take a short corner which then breaks down. Why wouldn't you throw the ball into the penalty area just before the half time interval. A bizarre choice that backfired horribly.
    • 90'
And that's it! Who would've thought it?! Full time here at Anfield. Liverpool 0-3 West Ham United. Sensational stuff from Slaven Bilic's team.

That's half time! Liverpool 0-2 West Ham United.
    • 90'
This scoreline may come as a shock to many, myself included to a certain extent, but is nothing more than what the away side deserve. They have been excellent from start to finish. Everything that could have gone wrong for Liverpool has done. A bad day at the office for the Reds, one to forget.

    • 90'
Sakho pounces on more uncertainity in the Liverpool and drives into the box, evading Moreno in the process, Skrtel continues to back off and the West Ham striker slides the ball into Mignolet's near post with his left foot. It caps a quite fabulous performance from the Hammers.
    • 45'
We're into four minutes of added time at the end of this first half and West Ham are taking every opportunity to run the clock down. Liverpool on the other hand have looked far too narrow, especially down the left side. it wouldn't be a great surprise to see Moreno come on to provide some more natur

That's all I've got time for this afternoon. This is a day, a result and a performance that will live long in the memories of the West Ham faithful. Especially those that made the trip to Anfield. I've been Chris Baker and thanks for joining me, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

As poor as Liverpool were it would be unfair to not give West Ham the credit they deserve. They totally nullified the attacking threat from the Merseyside giants. Liverpool's good start to the campaign has been based on being solid at the back and they were far from that this afternoon. I would be v

As for Liverpool, what now for Rodgers? His players got off to an awful start and never truly recovered. After not conceding in their opening three matches it took just three minutes for West Ham to breech their defence. The Reds didn't look comfortable all game in whatever shape and system they wer

Bilic will be looking for greater consistency from his charges after the international break but what a way to bounce back from two disappointing results at Upton Park. On a day of shocks in the Premier League this is certainly one of them. It may only be August but you will have to go a long way to see a better all round away performance than that this season. To a man, the West Ham players played brilliantly today. Liverpool must be contemplating changes at this stage in an attempt to get back into the match. Rodgers has plenty of options with Origi, Ings, Ibe and Moreno waiting in the wings. The danger for the Reds is that they will leave themselves open on the counter attack as they push for a goal back.
    • 0'
I'm sure that the first 45 minutes is has exceeded even the wildest expectations of anyone of a West Ham persuasion. Bilic's gameplan has been implemented perfectly. If anything, the Hammers boss might be disappointed that they have not taken some more of the good chances. The game could concievably

What a story we have unfolding here at Anfield. West Ham are on course for a famous victory at a traditionally unhappy hunting ground for the East Londoners. Brendan Rodgers will be far from pleased with his side's first half performance. The first 15 minutes of the second half will be crucial for b

West Ham's record at Anfield is not good to say the least and if they defend in the same way as they did at home to Bournemouth last weekend it will be a very long afternoon for the visitors. Aaron Cresswell  had a torrid time last Saturday and will want to put that right. He will need to be near hi

Slaven Bilic keeps faith in Diafra Sakho despite the striker being in the news for the wrong reasons this week. Meanwhile, Kevin Nolan left the club by mutual consent this week and Manuel Lanzini takes his place in the starting lineup. James Tomkins comes in for the suspended Carl Jenkinson.
    • 0'
Brendan Rodgers sticks with the same eleven that put in a pretty impressive performance, particularly in the first half, away at the Emirates. This means Danny Ings still has to wait for his first start for the club. Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana are not fit enough yet to return to the squad.

    • 0'
Good afternoon and welcome along to Anfield, the world famous home of Liverpool FC. Today they take on West Ham United in this Premier League encounter. I'm Chris Baker and I'll be describing the action for you.
    • 1'
Liverpool get us underway and they will kick towards the Anfield Road end in this first half. The home side are in their traditional all red strip while West Ham are in their away kit of all sky blue.
    • 2'
Liverpool have made a bright start to this match and are looking to take the game to the opposition. Clyne sends in a deep cross which Tomkins calmly chests back to West Ham goalkeeper Randolph.
    • 3'
      G M. Lanzini Assist A. Cresswell
    • 3'
The assist came from A. Cresswell.
    • 3'
GOAL! 0-1 WEST HAM! Lanzini has scored on his debut in front of the Kop. What a start for the youngster! Cresswell picked the ball up on the top of the penalty area, he stabbed the ball across the face of the goal and Lanzini was on hand to tap in from close range. That was far too easy for the Hamm
    • 5'
Would you believe that Lanzini's goal is the first to be scored by a West Ham player at Anfield in nine years! Bobby Zamora was the last Hammer to get on the scoresheet away against Liverpool in August 2006.
    • 7'
Coutinho immediately tries to get the Reds back on level terms by working some room for himself on the edge of the area but this time he can't produce a moment of magic and the ball sails harmlessly over the bar.
    • 9'
OFF THE POST! Firmino is oh so close to scoring his first Liverpool goal and it would have been a wonderstrike. The Brazilian unleashed a left foot shot from 25 yards out that rattled the woodwork with Randolph well beaten. Unlucky.
    • 10'
There was a coming together in the West Ham penalty area between Reid and Benteke but nothing doing from the referee. The big Liverpool no.9 went down a bit too easily there. Good, strong defending from the New Zealand international.
    • 12'
The travelling West Ham fans are in terrific voice as you would expect after making such a dream start to this match. The Liverpool fans still seem to be in a bit of shock after going behind so early on.
    • 14'
Payet whips in a devillish delivery from a free-kick on the right wing which Tomkins does well to control before Liverpool smuggle the ball away for a corner. West Ham are looking a real threat whenever they go forward. The Liverpool backline looks distinctly fragile at the moment.
    • 16'
WIDE! Lanzini fires a shot wide after being given acres of room in the Liverpool midfield. The youngster is full of confidence after his goal and might be a little disappointed that he did not work Mignolet there.
    • 18'
As they did on Monday night Brendan Rodgers' side are looking to hit Christian Benteke at every opportunity and have put in plenty of crosses and long balls into the box. Clyne is providing great width on the right-hand side.
    • 20'
So far, so good for Slaven Bilic's side who needed a positive reaction after that shock defeat at home to Bournemouth last weekend. The West Ham back four have been dominant in the air and have been well supported by a disciplined and organised midfield and attack in front of them.
    • 22'
Liverpool, as you would expect have had plenty of the ball, particularly since going behind but they are finding it hard to get in behind this resolute West Ham defence. The Reds are being probing and patient in possession but are lacking that penetrating final pass at the moment.
    • 24'
West Ham on occasion are pressing Liverpool high up the pitch which is frustrating the home faithful. Clyne then forces another corner after is deflected cross was put behind by Randolph. The set piece comes to nothing but Benteke appeared was being held there, the Hammers will need to be careful wi
    • 26'
CHANCE! West Ham could and possibly should be two-nil up here. Kouyate burst into the Liverpool penalty area, his shot was blocked but it fell kindly for the marauding Aaron Cresswell who really should have done better with his weaker right foot blazing it high over the bar.
    • 28'
GOAL! WEST HAM HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! 0-2! Skipper Mark Noble with the finish.
    • 29'
      G M. Noble Assist A. Cresswell
    • 29'
Lovren made a horrible mess of things in the left back position and the lively Lanzini took full advantage surging into the box squaring the ball to Sakho who's effort was snuffed out but the ball dropped to Mark Noble, who was the calmest man in the stadium as he slotted the ball in the bottom corn
    • 31'
Slight delay in proceedings as first Sakho and then Kouyate need to receive treatment from the West Ham medical team. Kouyate landed awkwardly after a strong tackle from Liverpool captain James Milner.
    • 33'
This time it is the left back Joe Gomez who gallops down the wing on the overlap but he can't control his attempted cross which is sliced over Randolph's cross bar.
    • 35'
Cresswell and the rest of the West Ham player's have reacted very well to the disappointment of last Saturday. The Hammers left back is having a great afternoon so far. The away side continue to create chances. Mark Noble this time half volleys the ball over Mignolet's goal.
    • 37'
The Anfield crowd are becoming more and more agitated which is being reflected by the players on the pitch. Mark Noble becomes the first player to be yellow carded and it appears to be a bit of a harsh decision. it was a full blooded challenge with Emre Can but the West Ham skipper seemed to win the
    • 38'
      M. Noble is yellow-carded.
    • 39'
Firmino just about keeps the ball in play in the inside left position and picks out his compatriot Coutinho, who looks to work half a yard on the top of the box but his low shot is superbly blocked. The West Ham defenders are really putting their bodies on the line when required today.
    • 41'
West Ham are just beginning to drop a little bit too deep and this is inviting pressure. From Slaven Bilic's point of view it is vital that they go into the break at 2-0 up.
    • 43'
It has been a really disjointed first half performance from Liverpool. They have looked shaky at the back and have lacked fluency going forward. Lovren, not for the first time in his Anfield career has not covered himself in glory so far. Big team talk coming up for Brendan Rodgers, in truth it coul
    • 45'
West Ham get the game restarted. One change for the homeside with Emre Can being replaced by Alberto Moreno.
    • 45'
Lanzini really has been a revelation for the visitors in this first half. He has been incredibly positive on and off the ball, giving his side a real outlet. Liverpool have been rather stifled by West Ham's tactics thus far.
    • 46'
SI Alberto Moreno SO A. Cresswell
    • 46'
Alberto Moreno enters play, replacing E. Can.
    • 46'
Liverpool have switched to a 3-5-2 with Moreno and Clyne as the wing backs with Joe Gomez dropping into a back three. Will it have the desired effect? We'll soon see...
    • 47'
Moreno is already seeing plenty of the ball since coming on as Liverpool look to stretch the game. Benteke is looking increasingly isolated as the service into is becoming more and more hopeful. Reid and Ogbonna are marshalling the big Belgian well and are successfully crowding him out.
    • 49'
OVER! Coutinho fires the ball over the crossbar from about 30 yards out. It was certainly well within his range but he just couldn't keep his shot down. West Ham will be reasonably happy to let Liverpool have speculative efforts from that sort of distance.
    • 52'
RED CARD! Coutinho's unhappy afternoon comes to a premature end after a rash tackle on Payet. The Brazilian picks up his second yellow card and has to go. The Liverpool number 10 was cautioned late in the first half and then put in an unnecessary and reckless challenge that leaves his team in all so
    • 53'
SHOT! From a very, very long way out Dejan Lovren has a crack at goal and certainly gets hold of his shot. Randolph however, is right behind it and comfortably holds on to it. That is the first piece of meaningful action for the West Ham.
    • 55'
Ogbonna not for the first time this afternoon has a handful of Christian Benteke's shirt as the Liverpool centre forward tries to hold the ball up for his team. The West Ham defender is playing a very dangerous game, absolutely no need for the away side to take any risks whatsoever at this stage of
    • 57'
The West Ham midfield trio of Kouyate, Noble and Obiang have been nothing short of exceptional this afternoon. They have not given Liverpool a moments peace. Pressing and dropping off at the right times, giving brilliant protection to the back four and keeping a consistent shape.
    • 59'
Danny Ings will now make his Anfield debut coming on in place of Roberto Firmino. Brendan Rodgers will hope that the former Burnley striker can feed off of Benteke's knock-downs as Liverpool look to claw their way back into contention.
    • 61'
SI D. Ings SO A. Cresswell
    • 61'
      D. Ings enters the game and replaces Roberto Firmino.
    • 61'
West Ham get a bit of relief by forcing a corner from Joe Gomez. Once again though, like Liverpool did at the end of the first half, they opt to take it short rather than trying to make use of their numerical advantage in the box. The ball works its way out to Cresswell who overhits his cross and it
    • 63'
WIDE! Milner drags his shot just wide of the post but he has to hit the target there. Ings had done well to divert Moreno's cross into the path of the former Manchester City midfielder but the England stalwart can't work Randolph in the West Ham goal. Big, big opportunity missed there.
    • 66'
The West Ham travelling supporters are chanting 'Ole' with each successful pass. The move ends with Lovren clearing Cresswell's dangerous low cross at the near post. Everything has gone right for the visitors today and the away fans are clearly enjoying their day out.
    • 68'
Liverpool can simply not keep hold of the ball at the moment. They are giving the ball away as quickly as they can win it back. West Ham look very comfortable at the present time and it is hard to see the home side getting back into it as things stand. Ings has made a positive difference since comin
    • 70'
Lucas Leiva receives a yellow card.
    • 70'
SHOT! Sakho and Lanzini combine nicely on the edge of the area but the ball ends up popping out to the onrushing Kouyate who tries to place his shot into the bottom corner but it doesn't have sufficient power to significantly trouble Mignolet.
    • 72'
Sakho, who has been pretty quiet today but going into the last twenty minutes or so, he clearly fancies having a run at Lovren and Skrtel now. If the pattern of the match continues in this vein it seems much more likely that West Ham will add a third rather than Liverpool getting one back.
    • 74'
Silly free-kick given away by Cresswell gives Milner the opportunity to swing a cross into the box. The set piece is rather lofty and Benteke is penalised for a foul on Winston Reid. Time is running out for Liverpool and it is all beginning to look rather desperate.
    • 76'
SAVE! Mignolet beats away Cresswell's fierce left-footed strike and it goes behind for a corner. Mark Noble beautifully picked out the left back who turned Nathaniel Clyne absolutely inside out. Perhaps he would've been better off looking for one of his teammates but you can't blame him for taking t
    • 77'
WIDE! Reid heads wide from just six yards out and that really should've been 0-3 and game well and truly over. Payet's corner was excellent and the West Ham centre back should have buried that golden opportunity.
    • 78'
SI J. Ibe SO A. Cresswell
    • 78'
RED CARD! Second dismissal of the afternoon and it is an absolute howler from the referee Kevin Friend. Mark Noble has been given a straight red after diving into a tackle. The West Ham captain is incredibly unfortunate to receive his marching orders. It wasn't a two-footed tackle and he wasn't out
    • 78'
      J. Ibe enters the game and replaces J. Gomez.
    • 81'
      M. Lanzini receives a yellow card.
    • 81'
Teenage sensation Reece Oxford is thrown into the fray in place of the goalscorer Manuel Lanzini who had just been booked as it happens.
    • 82'
SI R. Oxford SO A. Cresswell
    • 82'
      M. Lanzini is replaced with R. Oxford.
    • 82'
CHANCE! Lovren's thoroughly miserable afternoon continues as he manages to spoon the ball over the bar with the goal gaping. Benteke had done really well to nod down the cross to the back post. That could've been the lifeline Liverpool so desperately need.
    • 84'
Ings now marks his Anfield debut with a yellow card after a bringing down Payet in the middle of the park. A pretty easy decision for Kevin Friend here. West Ham will gladly take this stoppage to break up the game.
    • 86'
      D. Ings gets yellow.
    • 86'
Benteke is cutting a rather forlorn figure now. The ex-Aston Villa hitman has worked very hard for his team today but to no avail. He simply hasn't had the right kind of service to seriously trouble the West Ham rearguard.
    • 88'
SI M. Jarvis SO A. Cresswell
    • 88'
      D. Payet is replaced with M. Jarvis.
    • 88'
OFF THE POST! Sakho almost had the ball in the net for West Ham's third goal of the game but was denied by the frame of the goal. It wouldn't have counted in any case as the linesman's flag was raised, rather sparing the striker's blushes there.
    • 90'
West Ham fans are delighting in every moment right now. Ironically cheering the Liverpool fans who are dejectedly streaming out of the stadium.
