    • KICK OFF
    • 45'
And, with that, the referee blows his whistle to bring the first half to an end.
    • 45'
Fernandinho goes into the referee's book.
    • 45'
OFF THE BAR! Cleverley's strong run is thwarted by Fernandinho on the edge of the area and Lukaku steps up this time, but sees his strike clip the top of the crossbar with Hart beaten.
    • 90'
City deal with an Everton corner and the referee swiftly blows the final whistle.
    • 45'
SI T. Browning SO B. Galloway
    • 45'
      T. Browning comes on for B. Galloway.
    • 45'
The disappointment is evident for Galloway as he hobbles off unable to continue, and is replaced by another academy graduate at left-back in Tyias Browning.
    • 90'
We are now into the second of four additional minutes at the end of this game. City are very comfortable as they knock the ball around, but will be desperate to keep a clean sheet.

That's all from Goodison Park this afternoon! I've been Jonathan Davies, thank you for following the LIVE action from the Barclays Premier League - hope you've enjoyed it. Until next time, have a very good evening.

Manchester City's perfect start to the season continues as they go back to the top of the Premier League. Aleksandar Kolarov put them ahead on the hour mark, before Samir Nasri put the game beyond Everton in the dying minutes.

    • 0'
The teams are coming back onto the field and the second half is about to commence.
    • 0'
Pellegrini will also be fairly satisfied with his side's performance, but will be encouraging them to get more shots on goal and be more clinical when they get opportunities.
    • 0'
Everton will be pleased with their efforts going into the break. They have dealt with City fairly well on the whole and looked dangerous whenever they have got forward.

The teams are coming out onto the field and kick off is just moments away...

MAN CITY SUBS: Caballero, Nasri, Bony, Delph, Demichelis, Denayer, Iheanacho.
    • 0'
MAN CITY (4-2-3-1): Hart; Sagna, Kompany (c), Mangala, Kolarov; Toure, Fernandinho; Navas, Silva, Sterling; Aguero.
    • 0'
There are no real surprises as Manuel Pellegrini names the same line-up that started the comprehensive 3-0 victory over Chelsea. Raheem Sterling makes his first appearance at Goodison since joining from Liverpool, while Sergio Aguero leads the line. Fabian Delph is on the bench following his return

EVERTON SUBS: Robles, Mirallas, Naismith, Besic, Deulofeu, Osman, Browning.

EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Howard; Coleman, Stones, Jagielka (c), Galloway; McCarthy, Barry; Kone, Barkley, Cleverley; Lukaku.

Following their stunning 3-0 victory at Southampton last week, Roberto Martinez has named an unchanged Everton starting 11. Former Manchester United players Tim Howard and Tom Cleverley are hoping to heap misery on their former rivals, as will ex-City midfielder Gareth Barry. Despite continued specu

There is plenty to play for here this afternoon. With Manchester United and Leicester City failing to win, and Liverpool not in action until tomorrow, the winners will go to the top of the Premier League table.
    • 0'
GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! This is Jonathan Davies welcoming you to LIVE text commentary of the Barclays Premier League. We are at Goodison Park today as Everton host Manchester City.
    • 1'
KICK OFF! The referee blows his whistle and Everton get us underway.
    • 2'
GOOD SAVE FROM HOWARD! Silva's shot is deflected into the path of Aguero, who fires a powerful effort towards goal, but the Everton keeper shows great reflexes to block.
    • 4'
It has been a bright start for Manchester City. They look like a very rejuvenated side at the start of this season, as they look to regain the Premier League title.
    • 6'
City will not be overly confident coming into this game, though, having won just one of their last 12 matches on Merseyside. That came here in May 2014 on their way to winning the title.
    • 8'
Everton had not done too much wrong in these opening stages, but were not seeing much of the ball. They have slowly played there way into the contest, though, and look settled now.
    • 10'
GOOD SAVE AGAIN! Some neat link-up play between Navas and Silva down the right sees the former pull his cross back behind the defence, where Aguero is unmarked to strike but finds Howard in good form once more.
    • 12'
We have a slight break in play here as Sagna is receiving attention from the physios after taking an elbow to the side of the head from Barry. It did not look intentional, though, and the right-back is soon back on his feet.
    • 14'
SILVA HAS A GO! Aguero provides a clever backheel for Silva to take into his stride and sting the palms of Howard with a fierce low drive from 20 yards out.
    • 15'
WHAT A CHANCE!! Kone gives the ball away to Navas who finds Silva and the Spaniard looks to pick out Sterling at the far post, but he is just a second too late and the ball runs agonisingly past his stretched leg.
    • 17'
Whether Sterling has been worth the investment from City will not be clear until later in the season, but he has made a huge difference already. A lot more of their play has come down that left flank where he has been operating in the opening two matches.
    • 19'
Most of the visitors' play so far has come down the opposite wing, where Navas and Sagna have been combining as they look to put pressure on the young full-back Galloway.
    • 21'
This is the 177th meeting between the sides and, interestingly, the head-to-head record currently stands at 66 wins apiece and 44 draws since the first encounter back in 1899.
    • 23'
LUKAKU SCORES! BUT IT WON'T COUNT!... Barkley slides the ball through for Lukaku, who rounds Hart and finishes past Kompany and Mangala. His joy is short-lived, though, as he is denied by the offside flag.
    • 25'
That opportunity was very much against the run of play so far. It seems to have sparked Everton into life, though, and they look to be more purposeful in their possession.
    • 26'
Some space opens up for Coleman as he comes inside from the right flank. He does not make a clean contact with the ball, however, and Hart watches it past the post.
    • 28'
Sterling is being relentlessly booed every time he touches the ball. He looks eager to silence them as he tries a shot from 20 yards, which is parried away by Howard.
    • 30'
As we approach the half-hour mark, it is still goalless here at Goodison Park. A point will be enough to take City back to the top, while all three would put Everton at the summit.
    • 32'
NOT FAR AWAY! Cleverley sits a corner up to the edge of the area where Jagielka is lurking, and the Everton skipper's header is not too far over the bar.
    • 34'
Toure suddenly comes to life as he receives the ball and bursts into the area before pulling the ball across the face of goal, but there is nobody is sky blue to turn it home.
    • 36'
City are getting themselves into some good positions, but are surprisingly lacking the cutting edge so far. That can all change, of course, with the likes of Aguero and Silva in their ranks.
    • 38'
There is a slight concern for Everton as Galloway is in need of attention. It appears to be a problem with his knee which will cause problems for the Toffees in that position, with Leighton Baines already injured and Luke Garbutt out on loan.
    • 40'
Galloway is able to continue for now as we enter the final five minutes of this first half. A goal at this time would be a real boost to either side.
    • 42'
      E. Mangala goes into the referee's book.
    • 42'
What a run from Barkley who steps away from Toure and charges at the City defence, before being tripped right on the edge of the area by Mangala. Everton have a free kick in a dangerous position here.
    • 43'
For all the excitement of the Everton fans, the delivery from Barkley was very disappointing. He stepped up but caught the ball all wrong and sent it flying into the stand.
    • 45'
The fourth official has raised his board to indicate that there will be four minutes of stoppage time.
    • 46'
KICK OFF! Here we go again, City get things going once more.
    • 47'
SILVA HITS THE POST! Sterling picks out the Spaniard with a neat return pass through the gap in the Everton defence, but his powerful shot crashes against the upright with Howard beaten.
    • 49'
Everton rode their luck there and they have generally enjoyed meetings with City here in the Premier League, having lost just three of their 18 clashes.
    • 51'
City have started this second half in a bright fashion. They look dangerous going forward and it could be a long half for Everton should things continue this way.
    • 53'
Martinez's men know how to stay resolute here at Goodison, though, having kept six clean sheets in their last 10 games here in the Premier League.
    • 55'
City launch a counter attack having been defending deep just seconds earlier. They are quickly up the other end and Toure flashes a cross right past the face of goal.
    • 57'
If Everton were to win here today, it would be the first time Martinez has tasted victory over City. He has only picked up two points from his 12 games against them as a manager.
    • 60'
      G A. Kolarov Assist B. Galloway
    • 60'
The assist came from R. Sterling.
    • 60'
CITY TAKE THE LEAD!!! The left hand side is instrumental for them once again as Sterling runs at Stones, before laying off Kolarov who squeezes the ball past Howard from a tight angle.
    • 62'
You couldn't say it wasn't coming for City. They have been very much on top in this second half and deserve to be in front. That is now seven goals without reply so far this season.
    • 63'
MAKE YOUR MIND UP! Navas robs the Everton defence of possession and bears down on goal, but cannot decide quickly enough whether to cross or shoot and he hits it straight at Howard.
    • 64'
SI S. Naismith SO B. Galloway
    • 64'
      A. Koné is done for the day. S. Naismith is his replacement.
    • 65'
Martinez has responded by sending on Steven Naismith in place of Kone. The Scotland international scored the equaliser in the corresponding fixture last season.
    • 67'
Everton force a corner in a rare spell of dominance. Barkley's delivery is very well dealt with, though, by City. They have been incredibly resolute so far.
    • 69'
As we approach the final 20 minutes, can Everton respond? They haven't done too much wrong on the whole, but need to offer a lot more when they do get forward.
    • 71'
Elsewhere this afternoon, there is nothing to separate Watford and Southampton at Vicarage Road. Both sides are still looking for their first victory of the season.
    • 73'
There has been no real attacking threat from either side in the last couple of minutes. The game has lost a little bit of flow and is being played in the central areas of the pitch.
    • 75'
Samir Nasri is getting stripped off and ready to come on for City. Sterling is believed to be the man who will be replaced. He has put another really good shift in today.
    • 76'
SI S. Nasri SO B. Galloway
    • 76'
      S. Nasri comes on for R. Sterling.
    • 78'
The Everton faithful are trying to get behind their side as we enter the final 12 minutes. One big push is needed from the Toffees if they are going to get something from the game.
    • 79'
OFF THE LINE! The hosts' search for an equaliser sees Barry tower in the air to head towards the far corner, but Kompany is in the right place to clear to safety.
    • 81'
SI W. Bony SO B. Galloway
    • 81'
      W. Bony comes on for S. Agüero.
    • 81'
A very tactical substitution from Pellegrini sees Wilfried Bony come on in place of Aguero. He can hold the ball up and this will serve City well in these latter stages.
    • 83'
Everton are rallying here. They are asking a lot more questions of City. The likes of Lukaku and Barkley are carrying their biggest threats going forward.
    • 85'
This is what City want. They have the ball and are keeping possession very well. Everton cannot get near it as we enter the last five minutes of this game.
    • 86'
      SI Deulofeu SO B. Galloway
    • 86'
      S. Nasri receives a yellow card.
    • 86'
Deulofeu comes on for T. Cleverley.
    • 86'
It is the last throw of the dice from Everton as they introduce Gerard Deulofeu in place of Cleverley. He will add another decent attacking outlet for the hosts out wide.
    • 88'
      G S. Nasri Assist B. Galloway
    • 88'
The assist came from Y. Touré.
    • 88'
GAME, SET AND MATCH CITY!!! Navas is denied by Howard but seconds later, the visitors clinch the points when Nasri plays an incisive one-two with Toure before neatly lifting over the Everton keeper.
    • 90'
SI F. Delph SO B. Galloway
    • 90'
David Silva is replaced with F. Delph.
    • 90'
OFFSIDE! Lukaku plays a neat through ball for Naismith to run onto, but the Scot starts his run too early and is rightly ruled to be offside before he shoots straight at Hart.
