    • 45'

Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today's Capital One Cup semi-final second leg game between Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from Bramall Lane.
    • 1'
And we're off! Tottenham get us underway, attacking from left to right.
    • 3'
After a patient start from both sides, Kane beats McEveley on the right flank before firing a low cross into the heart of the United penalty area, but it's cleared well by Flynn at the vital moment.
    • 5'
McNulty and Murphy link up well on the left wing before the latter curls a deep cross towards Campbell-Ryce at the far post, but it's only able to find Dier, who comfortably clears the danger with a strong header.
    • 6'
Again, Murphy does well, cutting inside from the left flank before threading a lovely pass into the path of McNulty, but Vertonghen is able to get in front of the striker and make sure that the ball ends up rolling into the hands of Vorm.
    • 8'
Lovely play by Tottenham! The visitors quickly work their way towards the edge of the United penalty area before Dembele darts into the box, but Harris is just about able to get a foot on the ball to send it out for a corner, which the hosts then deal with well.
    • 9'
After comfortably dealing with the corner, United try to break away on a swift counter-attack through Campbell-Ryce, but the winger is stopped brilliantly by Mason near the halfway line.
    • 11'
What a chance for United! Campbell-Ryce sprints down the right wing before sending an absolutely wonderful cross into the penalty area. Vorm rushes out to collect the ball but ends up spilling it into the feet of Murphy, who then unleashes a low shot that the Dutch goalkeeper is just about able to s
    • 13'
Great play again by Murphy! This time, he beats Walker before whipping a low cross towards the edge of the six-yard box but it ends up missing McNulty by a few agonising yards.
    • 14'
And now Kane is presented with a great opportunity to make it 1-0 after linking up well with Lamela on the edge of the United box, but he ends up firing his long-range effort straight into the hands of Howard.
    • 16'
United patiently pass the ball around in their own half of the pitch before Flynn attempts to find Murphy with a long pass forward, but it's completely overhit and is only able to find Vorm near the byline.
    • 18'
Nervy moments at the back for United! Walker beats Murphy with ease on the right wing before forcing Howard into pulling off a good save at the near post. The hosts are then only able to clear the ball as far as Dembele, who unleashes a low shot from 25 yards out that rolls just wide of the goal.
    • 19'
A poor pass from Baxter allows Tottenham to break away quickly, but Kane brings a promising attack to a disappointing end with a long-range strike that curls several yards wide of the near post.
    • 20'
Great play by Tottenham! The visitors are putting the hosts under a huge amount of pressure! Dembele threads a lovely ball into the path of Kane, who is unmarked inside the United penalty area, but the striker's run is slightly too early and he's flagged for offside just as he gets a shot away.
    • 22'
After a period of United pressure, Tottenham win the ball back and break away on a swift counter attack. Lamela holds onto possession for too long and ends up running into a red-and-white cul-de-sac, but Mason is eventually able to regain the ball for the visitors. He then fires a brilliant long-ran
    • 24'
It's all become a little bit sloppy in the last few moments. Both sides are finding it difficult to hold onto the ball for long periods of time, forcing them into firing ineffectual long passes.
    • 26'
Intricate passing between Kane and Eriksen ends with the latter chipping a lofted ball over the top of the United defence and towards Lamela, but it's overhit and fails to find the Argentine.
    • 27'
Kane hits the woodwork! The Tottenham striker breaks into the left hand side of the penalty area but is forced towards the byline by McEveley, and he then ends up firing his shot into the outside of the near post and out for a goal kick.

      G C. Eriksen Assist M. Doyle
    • 28'
GOAL! What a stunning strike! Stambouli is brought down by Doyle, resulting in a free kick for Tottenham in a very dangerous position. Eriksen steps up and fires a brilliant curling shot that hits the top of the left post before flying into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to the visitors.
    • 30'
Straight from the kick off, United try to patiently work their way down the left flank towards the byline, but Walker does well to keep Harris and Murphy at bay before clearing the ball away from danger.
    • 32'
Campbell-Ryce is tripped over by Mason and United are awarded a free kick on the right wing as a result. It's taken short before Flynn fires a cross into the penalty area, but it's disappointing and fails to beat the first man.
    • 34'
Once again, Kane shows great pace and determination to break into the left hand side of the United penalty area before forcing Howard into pulling off a good save at the near post.
    • 36'
Murphy does well to break away quickly, spinning around Walker before forcing the right-back into clumsily tripping the United man over from behind midway inside the Tottenham half of the pitch.
    • 37'
After receiving a lengthy talking to from the referee, Mike Dean, Walker is a shown a yellow card for his poor challenge on Murphy.
    • 39'
Dembele does wonderfully well to power his way through three United players before cutting the ball back to Lamela, but the Argentine ends up scuffing his shot wide of the far post from the edge of the penalty area.
    • 41'
At the moment it's all Tottenham, who look in complete control as we enter the final few minutes of what has been a great first half for the North London side.
    • 43'
Davies picks up the ball on the left flank before trying to play a quick one-two with Eriksen, but the Dane's attempted back-heel is intercepted well by Harris.
    • 44'

    • 45'
Mason sprints past two United players before being clumsily tripped over by Doyle, resulting in a yellow card for the midfielder and a free kick for Tottenham in an extremely dangerous position just a few yards outside of the penalty area.
    • 45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be one minute of added time.
    • 46'
      And we're underway once again!
    • 47'
What a chance for Kane! Tottenham quickly win the ball back from the kick-off, and Dembele breaks forward on a determined run. He spins before setting up the striker, who then cuts inside from the left hand side of the penalty area and fires a low shot that flies just wide of the near post.
    • 47'
And now the hosts try to break away quickly, but Scougall's powerful run forward is brought to an end by Mason, who challenges the midfielder poorly and earns himself a yellow card as a result.
    • 48'
The resulting set-piece causes the Tottenham defence all sorts of problems, with Vertonghen, under no real pressure, failing to clear the ball. He's only able to send it into the feet of McNulty, but the striker's half-hearted overhead kick fails to test Vorm.
    • 50'
After a nervy few moments, Tottenham are in control once again as they patiently work their way up the right flank towards the United penalty area.
    • 52'
Lamela does well to skip into the box from the right wing but McEveley is there to shepherd the ball out of play for a goal kick, much to the annoyance of the Tottenham fans, who were certain that the United defender got the final touch.
    • 54'
Murphy picks up the ball on the left flank and cuts inside before firing a low shot from 30 yards out, but the striker is poorly hit and Vorm is able to watch it safely roll out of play for a goal kick.
    • 55'
Again, Murphy uses his pace and skill to great effect, cutting inside from the left wing before forcing Dembele into fouling him just outside of the penalty area.
    • 55'
United put good pressure on the Tottenham defence, and, after strong play from McNulty, the hosts are awarded their first corner of the game. It's curled towards the edge of the six-yard box but Kane is there to head the ball away from danger.
    • 56'
Murphy takes the resulting set-piece short, sending it back Baxter, who unleashes a rocket of a shot that flies into the wall of yellow shirts camped in front of him just inside the box.
    • 57'
United are enjoying their best spell of possession as they push forward in search of a goal that could kick-start a wonderful comeback. However, the Tottenham back four are doing extremely well to keep the determined hosts at bay.
    • 58'
Flynn becomes the latest player to enter Mike Dean's book, earning himself a yellow card for cynically clipping the back of Dembele's heels as the Belgian broke away quickly.
    • 60'
Dembele spins past three United players on the right wing before playing the ball back to Mason, but United do well to regroup quickly to deny Tottenham the chance to push into the penalty area.
    • 61'
The ball eventually finds its way back to Dembele on the right hand corner of the box, but the Belgian's strike ends up flying well wide of the goal.
    • 63'
Davies skips past Flynn before being tripped over the right-back, resulting in a free kick for Tottenham in an extremely dangerous position just outside of the United penalty area.
    • 64'
Again, Eriksen fires a low shot from the resulting set-piece that fails to beat the wall of United players in front of him.

    • 65'

    • 66'
      SI Paulinho SO M. Doyle
    • 66'
Tottenham have also decided to make a change, with Dembele, who seems to be struggling with a slight injury, making way to be replaced by Paulinho.
    • 67'
Lamela is brought down by a poor challenge from McEveley, and, again, Tottenham are gifted a great opportunity to test Howard from just outside of the box.
    • 68'
This time it's Kane who takes the resulting free kick but, despite hitting the target, he fails to find the back of the net.
    • 70'
What a tackle by Baxter! Lamela sends a brilliant through-ball into the path of Mason, who only has Howard to beat, but the midfielder slides in to intercept the pass before it's able to meet the Tottenham man.

    • 74'
And the second is Adams, who takes the place of Campbell-Ryce.
