The referee brings an end to the match and Milan claim a valuable win, ending a run of three consecutive Serie A defeats. Menez stole the show, scoring twice and adding an assist for Zaccardo goal 14 minutes from time, further easing the pressure on Inzaghi and lifting Milan into the top half of the

Milan 1-1 Parma: The referee brings the first half to a close and the two sides go into the break level. Roberto Donadoni will undoubtedly be the happier of the two coaches, with Parma producing a brilliant response to going behind to Menez's penalty. Nocerino restored parity and almost put them ahe

By comparison, though, Parma's situation is far more serious than Milan's. Currently bottom of the table, Roberto Donadoni's side are without Ishak Belfodil, Andi Lila, Massimo Coda, Dias Felipe, Jonathan Biabiany, Cristobal Jorquera, Abdel Ghezzal, Afriyie Acquah and Pedro Mendes, while Antonio Cas

Inzaghi will no doubt be pleased to give debuts to two new players today, though. Salvatore Bocchetti and Mattia Destro have arrived on temporary deals from Spartak Moscow and Roma, respectively, and they go straight into the team as Milan look to bounce back from Coppa Italia elimination at the han

Milan are under plenty of pressure to claim victory today, with coach Pippo Inzaghi feeling the heat after a presiding over a dreadful season so far. They are yet to pick up a Serie A win in 2015 and failure to beat rock-bottom Parma will undoubtedly be seen as a catastrophe, as the club look to mov

Hello and welcome to the LIVE text commentary of the Serie A clash between Milan and Parma. My name is Ryan Benson and I shall be describing the action for you as the hosts look to claim all three points and climb back into the top half of the table.
    • 1'
Off we go! Parma get the action started at San Siro.
    • 3'
Unsurprisingly, Milan have started in the ascendancy, knocking the ball around well and getting it forward quickly. No doubt the team will feel boosted by the addition of Destro, who has immediately displaced Pazzini.
    • 4'
Parma win the match's first corner, though, as Mariga marches up the right and sees the ball knocked behind by Bocchetti, who is playing at left-back on his Milan debut.
    • 5'
Galloppa heads across to take the corner and he whips a left-footed delivery into the danger area, but Diego Lopez collects in commanding fashion, plucking the ball out of the air.
    • 6'
Good move by the visitors. Gobbi attacks up the left flank to good effect and his delivery causes problems in the penalty area, but Nocerino doesn't connect with the ball properly as he tries a volley and Milan escape unscathed.
    • 7'
Free-kick to the visitors on the left, close to the halfway line, as Palladino receives a pass from Cristian Rodriguez and is tripped by Alex, who is following the former Juve attacker everywhere at the moment.
    • 9'
Parma have settled quite quickly here. Milan initially appeared to have started in positive fashion, as they got the ball forward swiftly, but the away side are starting to see more of the ball, putting Alex, Rami & Co. under pressure.
    • 10'
Free-kick for Parma now, as Mariga races through the middle and is tripped by Alex's sliding tackle. Galloppa launches the ball into the area from the resulting dead-ball situation and Van Ginkel heads it behind.
    • 11'
Galloppa takes the corner now, playing it short, before the ball is quickly lofted into the area. However, Diego Lopez again takes the ball out of the air confidently.
    • 13'
There is Milan's first shot, but it rather sums up this team's lack of invention, as Rami comes forward and smashes the ball goalwards from 35 yards, missing the target completely.
    • 15'
We certainly haven't been treated to a classic inside the first 15 minutes. Milan aren't doing a great deal in attack, with Honda, Cerci, Menez and Destro all starting very quietly, while they appear ponderous and laboured in possession.
    • 16'
Cerci finally comes to life on the left, as the Italian manages to break free of Santacrocce's shackles and cross into the centre. His delivery is far too heavy, though, and Parma escape.
    • 17'
GOAL!!! MILAN HAVE THE LEAD! Menez steps up to take the spot-kick and he coolly dispatches it to his left, with Mirante diving in the opposite direction. A tough task has just been made even more daunting for Parma.
    • 17'
PENALTY TO MILAN! Another cross is lofted into the area from the left and the right-back, Zaccardo, is all the way up in the Parma area. He heads the ball back across goal and it strikes Rodriguez on the arm.
    • 19'
Hopefully that goal will result in this becoming a more open contest, as neither side has looked capable of dictating control so far. Milan certainly appear more forward-thinking with their passing, though.
    • 20'
      M. Gobbi is yellow-carded.
    • 21'
Clever play by Honda, as the Japan international produces a clever turn out wide, beating Gobbi and then charging into the visitors' half. The Italian eventually hauls his counterpart down, giving Milan a free-kick in an advanced position on the right.
    • 22'
MILAN DENIED A SECOND! The hosts think they have another goal as Honda flicks the free-kick delivery on and the ball eventually finds Zaccardo, who beats Mirante from close range. But the former Parma defender is flagged offside.
    • 24'
      G A. Nocerino Assist M. van Ginkel
    • 24'
GOAL!!! PARMA ARE LEVEL! Galloppa's free-kick delivery causes havoc and after Poli is beaten in the air at the back post, Nocerino loses Bocchetti and steers home from close range against his former team.
    • 24'
      M. van Ginkel is cautioned by the referee.
    • 24'
Good play by Rodriguez, as the on-loan Atletico Madrid man jinks inside from the left and wins a free-kick from Van Ginkel, who goes into the referee's book.
    • 26'
That goal is a real sucker-punch for Milan, who just a few moments before thought they had scored a second themselves. Parma are looking a little brighter going forward now, causing problems for the hosts' shaky defence.
    • 28'
There's another Parma effort, this time from Mariga as the Kenyan midfielder tries his luck from distance. His attempt is tame, though, and it rolls comfortably wide of the left-hand post.
    • 30'
Milan have been extremely poor at getting Destro involved so far. Alex tries to pick the Italy striker out with a lofted pass from inside his own half, but Costa deals with the situation.
    • 31'
      A. Lucarelli is cautioned by the referee.
    • 32'
Much better from Cerci. The former Torino man produces a clever turn inside his own half and he swiftly breaks into the Parma half. Two defenders get into the Italy forward's path, but he jinks past them and wins a free-kick from Lucarelli to the right of the penalty area.
    • 33'
OFF THE POST! Alex produces a fine effort from the resulting free-kick, smashing it low and hard towards the bottom-left corner, but his effort comes back off the woodwork and Rami blazes the rebound over from 20 yards.
    • 34'
Parma are quickly back on the attack, though, and Rodriguez bursts into space down the left. The Uruguayan gets a cross into the area, but Alex puts it behind for a corner.
    • 35'
Galloppa fires the ball into the area from the corner once again, but Diego Lopez deals with it just as easily as the previous efforts. The standard of set-piece deliveries has been poor so far.
    • 36'
SO CLOSE FOR DESTRO! Zaccardo plays a lofted pass towards the edge of the area and Destro, who rises highest to meet it, shows great awareness to notice Mirante's foolish charge off his line and heads the ball goalwards. His effort lands on top of the open goal, though.
    • 38'
      M. Destro receives a yellow card.
    • 38'
And now Destro's name is taken as he produces a strong challenge while tracking back, inviting pressure on to Milan again.
    • 39'
MILAN ESCAPE! Parma work the ball brilliantly to the right side of the area and Varela smashes a low effort at Lopez. The goalkeeper makes the save and Rami is there to pounce on the loose ball, but the Frenchman amazingly tries to dribble past a Parma attacker and Nocerino steals possession from hi
    • 41'
CRUCIAL BLOCK! Zaccardo's scuffed cross finds its way to Honda, who helps the ball on with a first-time pass to Destro in a great position. But the forward takes a touch, allowing Santacrocce time to track back and makes a vital block on the eventual shot.
    • 43'
Cleve footwork from Cerci out on the right, as he skips past Gobbi. However, he carries the ball out of play at the same time, much to the frustration of the hosts.
    • 45'
    • 46'
SI M. Essien SO M. van Ginkel
    • 46'
      M. van Ginkel is done for the day. M. Essien is his replacement.
    • 46'
Off we go for the second half!
    • 47'
There was one change at the break, as the anonymous Van Ginkel is replaced by Essien. That should certainly introduce some bite to the Milan midfield.
    • 49'
Cerci tries to provide some creative spark for Milan down the right, as the Atletico Madrid-owned forward cuts on to his left foot and whips in a fierce deliery. However, it ultimately proved to be too close to Mirante, who gobbles it up.
    • 51'
Cerci is looking lively at the start of this second half. This time he attempts to race on to a headed flick-on by Destro, but Lucarelli covers to good effect and plays it back to Mirante, who clears his lines.
    • 53'
Good play again by Cerci, as he pounces on a wayward pass in the midfield and bursts forward, before squaring to Poli. The midfielder tries to play a pass into the area for Destro, but Costa intercepts.
    • 55'
What a waste. Menez drops deep to pick up the ball and does well to pick out a pass to Essien, who carries it forward. The Ghanaian then slips a pass towards the right for Cerci, but his effort goes straight out of play, much to the dismay of the Milan fans.
    • 57'
      G J. Ménez Assist M. van Ginkel
    • 57'
The assist came from A. Cerci.
    • 57'
      J. Ménez scores for Milan!
    • 57'
GOAL!!! MILAN RETAKE THE LEAD AT SAN SIRO! Cerci does brilliantly down the right as he races away from Rodriguez and tees Menez up with a pass into the edge of the area. The Frenchman charges across the edge of the area, before slamming a precise effort into the bottom-left corner. Lovely strike.
    • 59'
Parma are straight back on the attack, though. Of course, the Milan lead did not last long in the first half, but can the visitors make history repeat itself?
    • 60'
SI A. Rispoli SO M. van Ginkel
    • 60'
      A. Rispoli enters play, replacing F. Santacroce.
    • 61'
Good feet from Menez, as the Frenchman flicks the ball past Galloppa about 35 yards from goal, with the Parma midfielder ultimately bringing his counterpart down. Free-kick for Milan.
    • 62'
      M. Mariga receives a yellow card.
    • 62'
Alex steps up to take the free-kick and tries his luck from 35 yards, but somewhat unsurprisingly his effort goes well wide of the target. What a waste of an opportunity.
    • 64'
Risky play by Milan and they are caught on the counterattack by Parma, who break down the right with Palladino. The forward clips a dreadful cross into the area, but Nocerino keeps it alive on the left. The ball is worked back towards the centre and Rodriguez smashes a half-volley towards goal from
    • 65'
SI J. Mauri SO M. van Ginkel
    • 65'
      J. Mauri enters the game and replaces M. Mariga.
    • 66'
Donadoni makes another change now, as Mariga is replaced by Mauri in midfield.
    • 68'
Excellent play by Cerci, as a sublime change of pace sees him burst away from Gobbi down the right flank. He crosses into the centre with the outside of his left foot, but Mirante catches it in acrobatic fashion.
    • 70'
Parma really haven't offered much in the second half. Donadoni's men were well worth the 1-1 scoreline at the break, but ever since they have looked bereft of ideas going forward.
    • 72'
A shot for Parma! Well, the visitors finally do something in this second half, as Palladino pounces on a loose ball and fires towards goal from 25 yards, sending his effort just over.
    • 74'
SI S. Muntari SO M. van Ginkel
    • 74'
      S. Muntari enters the game and replaces M. Destro.
    • 74'
Inzaghi makes another change, taking Destro off for Muntari in a rather pragmatic change.
    • 75'
ALMOST A THIRD! Fine play by Menez as he runs at the Parma defence and unselfishly plays Cerci into the right side of the area. He squeezes past Gobbi and gets a shot away, but Mirante makes the save.
    • 76'
      G C. Zaccardo Assist M. van Ginkel
    • 76'
      Assist by J. Ménez.
    • 76'
GOAL!!! MILAN WRAP THINGS UP! Menez is at the centre of things again as the French star races down the right flank and charges into the area. He cuts a well-placed pass back to Zaccardo, who steers a fine finish into the top-left corner. Excellent goal.
    • 77'
SI L. Haraslín SO M. van Ginkel
    • 77'
Silvestre Varela is replaced with L. Haraslín.
    • 78'
Milan surely have all three points in the bag now. Parma have done very little since half-time and that third goal was something of a sucker-punch for the visitors. The home side look set to end their run of three consecutive Serie A defeats.
    • 80'
And off goes the man of the hour. Menez gets a huge ovation as he is replaced by Pazzini.
    • 81'
SI G. Pazzini SO M. van Ginkel
    • 81'
      G. Pazzini enters the game and replaces J. Ménez.
    • 82'
Milan continue to pour men forward as they look to make the win as comfortable as possible. You can't see Parma getting back into this now.
    • 84'
Parma are enjoying some late pressure now, knocking the ball around inside the Milan half without much opposition from the hosts. But Inzaghi's men are looking comfortable.
    • 86'
Not long left now for Milan, with proceedings seemingly petering to an unspectacular finish at San Siro. Can Parma ensure a nervous ending for the hosts with another goal?
    • 88'
Gobbi tries to make ground down the left as he initially gets beyond Zaccardo, before fouling the right-back. He smashes the ball away in frustration, but the referee keeps his cards in his pocket.
    • 90'
There will be three minutes added on here.
