    • KICK OFF
    • 90'
And they are! Mr Swarbrick blows the final whistle.
    • 45'
And that's it for the first half.
    • 90'
That was good and bad from Ince! He controls a long ball brilliantly to come inside, but sends his subsequent shot way off target. West Brom are almost there.
    • 90'
West Brom have got the ball where they want it - in the corner and they will be in no rush to take it. Hull need to get down the other end and fast.
    • 0'
And that's it for this afternoon. Hope you've enjoyed following the LIVE action from the Hawthorns. I've been Jonathan Davies - farewell until next time!
    • 0'
Saido Berahino was the hero as he gave Tony Pulis a dream start to his Premier League career at West Brom. A huge three points for the Baggies, while Hull will want to put this afternoon behind them and move forward as soon as possible.

The teams are back out and the restart is imminent.
    • 0'
In other scores, Burnley are beating QPR 2-1 in another six-pointer, while Chelsea, Leicester and West Ham are 1-0 up against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Swansea respectively. The other two matches are goalless so far.
    • 0'
Goalless at Hawthorns at the break, though the hosts really should be in front after that wasted chance from Ideye. When you're brought in for £10 million, you have to finish chances like that - no excuses. Other than that, it has been a fairly flat half and it will be interesting to see how both te

The teams are out and kick off is upon us.
    • 0'
Those two wins have come in their last three matches, but there is very little to separate the sides in the history of the fixture. The Baggies have won 17 of their 48 meetings to the Tigers' 16, and they have each scored 63 goals overall.
    • 0'
Tony Pulis takes charge of a West Brom for the first time in the Premier League and he opens with a crucial relegation six-pointer at the Hawthorns. The Baggies are 17th with 18 points – just one behind Steve Bruce’s Hull who are 15th. Neither side are in particularly good form – West Brom have won

The teams are in and there are two changes for both sides from last time out in the league on New Year’s Day, having made several alterations for the FA Cup last weekend. Claudio Yacob and Brown Ideye come in for West Brom in place of Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans, while Stephen Quinn and Mayn

Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE text commentary from the Barclays Premier League, as West Bromwich Albion and Hull City go head to head. I’m Jonathan Davies and I’ll be guiding you through the action at the Hawthorns.
    • 1'
WE'RE OFF! Neil Swarbrick blows his whistle and West Brom get us underway.
    • 3'
Sessegnon looks for Ideye with the through ball, but Bruce matches him for pace and is able to clear to safety. West Brom's record signing will want to make an impact under his new boss.
    • 4'
Meyler lets Yacob know he's there with a very strong challenge that leaves the Argentine a little shaken up. He's back on his feet though and that will be an interesting battle in the centre of midfield.
    • 5'
Figueroa cuts inside the challenge and tries his luck from distance. His effort is way off target but he is more than capable from that sort of range - who could forget the goal from inside his own half for Wigan at Stoke in the 2009/10 season?
    • 7'
This is the third meeting between the sides this season. West Brom won 3-2 here in the League Cup, before both teams played out a 0-0 draw in the reverse league fixture at the KC.
    • 9'
West Brom have won 11 of the 24 meetings played at the Hawthorns, but they have yet to register a victory over the Tigers here in the Premier League - drawing two and losing three.
    • 11'
Hull put a nice spell of possession together down the right hand side, which results in Elmohamady sending in a cross. Nobody is in there to attack it though for the visitors.
    • 13'
The Egyptian is the only Hull player to have started all 21 Premier League games so far. Foster and Wisdom have featured in all but one of West Brom's opening 21 matches.
    • 15'
West Brom get the first corner of the afternoon. Brunt whips it into the area in trademark fashion, but McGregor collects very well out of the air.
    • 18'
CHANCE FOR BERAHINO! The Baggies' top scorer comes inside from the right and plays a neat one-two with Sessegnon on the edge of the area, but he stabs his effort wide of the target.
    • 20'
Both sides have been fairly solid defensively during the opening 20 minutes. West Brom will want to maintain this as they have already conceded 16 goals at home this season - the most in the league.
    • 22'
It's fair to say that the Baggies don't exactly have home comfort. They have lost four of their last five at the Hawthorns, and won just four of their previous 24.
    • 24'
Mind you, Hull can't really brag about their form on the road this season. Their recent win at Sunderland was their first away from the KC since beating QPR on the opening day.
    • 26'
Back on the pitch, things have gone fairly flat at the moment. Quinn's just sent a deep ball over from the near touchline, but Jelavic's 18-yard header is easily gathered by Foster.
    • 27'
Hernandez tries an opportunist lob on the edge of the box after the ball broke kindly for him. His effort is never troubling Foster though, and a sarcastic cheer rings around the Hawthorns.
    • 29'
There's not much happening elsewhere in the Premier League so far today. Lazar Markovic's ninth-minute goal was enough for Liverpool to see off Sunderland in the early kick off, while Burnley have taken the lead against QPR.
    • 31'
Hernandez appears to be struggling with his groin. Robbie Brady is going through the paces on the touchline and is stripped off ready to come on.
    • 32'
NICE PLAY FROM BERAHINO! The striker picks the ball up on the edge of the area and skips past a couple of challenges, before his drilled effort is well held by McGregor who got down well.
    • 33'
SI R. Brady SO N. Jelavić
    • 33'
      R. Brady enters play, replacing N. Jelavić.
    • 33'
It is in fact Jelavic who is coming off for Hull. He was heavily limping as he made his way to the touchline. On a brighter note for the visitors, Hernandez looks to have shaken off his knock.
    • 35'
      C. Yacob is yellow-carded.
    • 35'
Brady gets involved for the first time and is awarded a free kick following a clumsy challenge from Yacob. The midfielder is the first player to go into the book.
    • 37'
It is Brady's eighth appearance as a substitute in the league this season. Ironically, he has now appeared more times from the bench than he has started.
    • 39'
SI T. Ince SO N. Jelavić
    • 39'
      T. Ince enters the game and replaces A. Hernández.
    • 39'
More problems for Hull as Hernandez has pulled up again and has signalled to the bench that he cannot continue. Tom Ince is going to come on in his place. Both strikers have gone off injured for the visitors.
    • 40'
GREAT EFFORT FROM BRADY! The substitute beats Lescott to the ball and fires a half-volley at goal from a tight angle. It wasn't going in but Foster doesn't take any chances and beats the ball away.
    • 41'
HOW DID IDEYE MISS THAT?! Some nice link-up play between Wisdom and Berahino sends the Nigerian clear on goal, but he drags his effort wide of the post. That was the sign of a striker with no confidence!
    • 43'
Just how costly could that miss prove to be? In a relegation six-pointer like this, you really cannot afford to waste opportunities like that!
    • 45'
We're going to have two minutes of stoppage time here.
    • 46'
      We're back underway!
    • 48'
Incidentally, all three matches involving either side that Mr Swarbrick has officiated have all ended in draws. He took charge of West Brom's 2-2 draw with Sunderland on the opening day, as well as Hull's stalemates at Newcastle and Liverpool.
    • 49'
Hull have a made a fairly bright start to the second half. They look a lot sharper as Elmohamady gets down the right and sends in a cross, but Foster comes out to collect.
    • 51'
The last time West Brom lost a match refereed by Swarbrick was back in February 2010 against Bristol City. Hull's last victory with the 49-year-old in charge came in August of the same season against Southend in the League Cup.
    • 53'
Dangerous ball across the face of goal from Berahino, but neither Sessegnon or Ideye attack it much to the frustration of Pulis on the touchline.
    • 55'
Both sides endured differing fortunes in the FA Cup last weekend. West Brom were goal-happy here as they swept non-league Gateshead aside 7-0, while Hull fell to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal in a repeat of the 2014 final.
    • 57'
A sloppy header from the Hull midfield eventually falls to Berahino, who tries his luck from outside the area. Once again though, he cannot hit the target.
    • 60'
Three of the last seven meetings between the sides have ended in a draw and we could be in for another one today. Both sides look like they are more afraid to lose than eager to win.
    • 62'
The game needs a fresh pair of legs just to give the game a spark. West Brom have the likes of Victor Anichebe, Graham Dorrans and Giorgos Samaras on the bench, while Hull only have one remaining.
    • 64'
Hull have a free kick out on the near touchline. Bruce urges his players forward and Brady curls in a deep delivery, but Foster is once again first to it.
    • 66'
At the other end, Pulis does the best to drive his players on. They have a corner but cannot make the most of it after playing it short. The home fans are getting restless.
    • 68'
Livermore tries his luck but he is very ambitious as he is off balance when he strikes it. That just about sums up the attacking play so far today though.
    • 70'
We're into the final 20 minutes here and we are no closer to finding a winner at the moment. Both sides have been very disappointing in attack, though Hull can claim that both of their strikers have been forced off injured.
    • 72'
There is activity on the bench and Anichebe is coming on for the Baggies. Ideye is the man to make way and he can have few complaints following another disappointing display.
    • 73'
SI V. Anichebe SO N. Jelavić
    • 73'
      V. Anichebe enters play, replacing B. Ideye.
    • 74'
Chance for Hull as the ball almost breaks for Ince before it falls to Elmohamady, but the West Brom defence are stubborn and able to block.
    • 76'
SI C. Gardner SO N. Jelavić
    • 76'
      S. Sessègnon is replaced with C. Gardner.
    • 76'
Pulis makes his second change in the space of four minutes and Craig Gardner makes his return from a calf injury. Sessegnon is the player to go off.
    • 77'
DRAMA HERE! West Brom have an indirect free kick inside the area after McGregor picked up a back pass from Elmohamady. He didn't have much chance to react though. Chance for the hosts..
    • 78'
      G S. Berahino Assist N. Jelavić
    • 78'
SI T. Huddlestone SO N. Jelavić
    • 78'
      S. Quinn is replaced with T. Huddlestone.
    • 78'
      V. Anichebe provided the assist.
    • 78'
Goal to West Bromwich Albion, scored by S. Berahino!
    • 78'
GOAL TO WEST BROM - BERAHINO!! Hull are made to play for that error! Anichebe tees the ball up for the England Under-21 striker to fire home through the legs of Meyler on the line. His ninth league goal of the season and it could be so important.
    • 80'
If a game ever needed a goal, it was this one! But what a costly error that was from Elmohamady. McGregor was in control of the situation and he had no need to touch the ball back for him.
    • 82'
Just goal difference is keeping Hull out of the relegation zone for now. Burnley's leading position against QPR is doing them no favours either.
    • 84'
This would be a vital three points for West Brom. It would lift them up to 14th in the table if this and results elsewhere all remain as they are.
    • 85'
They were almost in behind there but the ball bounced too high and just wouldn't drop quickly enough for Wisdom in the area. Hull recover and are able to clear.
    • 87'
It has been a very difficult afternoon for the visitors, who weren't helped by the early injuries suffered by strikers Jelavic and Hernandez. They haven't offered a lot going forward since.
    • 90'
We're going to have two minutes of stoppage time here.
