    • KICK OFF
    • PENALTY SHOOTOUT
    • 90'
The away side boot it clear one last time and the whistle goes! And that's that. Manchester City have beaten a spirited Leicester City 0-1.
    • 90'
Morgan is now in the City box all the time. Hamer finds him but Leicester cannot fashion anything with the second ball. City are pinned in their box though, and the Foxes have another attacking throw-in.
    • EXTRA TIME
    • 90'
Konchesky's throw is long and Morgan flicks it on at the near post. Ulloa shields the ball and then shoots on the turn, but it's high and wide. He had players behind him and laying it off to one of them might have been a wiser choice.
    • HALF TIME
    • 90'
City try to hang onto the ball but Leicester turn it over and work it from one side of the pitch to the other. Mahrez does well to win a throw off Navas.
    • 45'
The whistle blows for half-time. It's Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.
    • 90'
Nasri is offside after Milner's pass. Hamer will launch it long. The home team's keeper has been sound today, not having any chance with the goal but otherwise playing tidily. His opposite number has also been solid without being spectacular.

Thank you very much for joining me, Alex Stewart, for this LIVE coverage which has finished Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City. Have a lovely rest of the weekend and wrap up warm.

For City, the relentless march on Chelsea continues. They rarely sparkled, but have enough quality to beat run-of-the-mill teams without needing to push themselves. Lampard's goal was well worked and Toure was again strong. Injuries to Dzeko and Kompany will take the gloss off this three points, tho
    • 0'
Despite working tirelessly, Leicester seem bereft of the quality that keeps teams in the Premier League. Schlupp and Drinkwater played well and Ulloa caused problems with his bulk when he came on. While a solid performance from Hamer in goal was a bonus, the Foxes will see this as another game when

The final score at the King Power Stadium, then, is Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City. The defending champions rarely broke out of a stroll and the home side threatened on numerous occasions without ever really forcing a save from Joe Hart.

When you're nailed to the foot of the table, it just seems to be that way and Leicester are staring that harsh reality in the face at the moment. But in Schlupp and Cambiasso especially, they have players who can change that.
    • 0'
For the away team, no-one has really sparkled, but their collective ability is so much stronger than Leicester's that it doesn't really matter. Nasri and Silva have had moments of quality, but it would be a lie to say City are coasting. Leicester look quick and purposeful on the break; they just lac

Ben Hamer has played well in goa for the Foxes, pulling off a great save from Toure and kicking well. He had no chance with the goal and will be heartened by his performance.
    • 0'
Poor Leicester. Despite their tireless work and a good chance for Vardy, the home team go into the changing rooms one goal down. Manchester City have been lacklustre after their midweek heroics, but old-hand Frank Lampard appeared in the box to skilfully turn home a Nasri cross, in truth against the

Leicester will try to keep it compact and use weight of numbers in midfield to stifle the flair and pace of their opponents. They've never won this fixture, though, and a draw is likely to be the best the Foxes can hope for.
    • 0'
Frank Lampard gets a rare start and his battle with fellow veteran Esteban Cambiasso will be intruiging. Yaya Toure will play in a more advanced role, alongside Samir Nasri, who is in a rich vein of form at the moment. Substitute Pozo looked very sharp last weekend, so keep an eye on him if he comes

Manchester City will not be complacent, I'm sure, but a trip to their bottom-of-the-table opponents should not cause too much trepidation in the away dressing room. Stand-in keeper Ben Hamer is a Foxes fan and has kept a clean sheet in his one Premier League start so far, but the chances of that happening again look very shaky indeed.
    • 0'
Leicester have had a rough week, losing first-choice stopper Kasper Schmeichel to a foot injury and seeing their preperations for what will be a very stern test overshadowed by the controvesry surrounding manager Nigel Pearson's comments to a fan and subsequent FA charge.

Good afternoon my friends, and welcome to this LIVE coverage of Leicester City vs Manchester City! I'm Alex Stewart and I'll be your host on this bitterly chilly afternoon.
    • 1'
And we're off! The Foxes are in their deep blue and Manchester City in a far lighter shade. An injury in warm-up has robbed the away side of starting striker Edin Dzeko, and so tyro Pozo starts having impressed as an early sub last weekend. Zabaleta comes onto the bench.
    • 2'
Plenty of early City possession, which is hardly surprising. Leicester appear to be playing with King in midfield and Cambiasso in a screening role, a sort of 4-1-4-1 transitioning to a 4-4-2 if and when the home team start to attack.
    • 3'
Leicester are packing the middle of the park but concede a free-kick which Nasri floats into Kompany at the back post. Hamer dithers but Leicester clear and burst out through Vardy, who pulls the ball back towards Schlupp. Fernando clears brilliantly.
    • 4'
Schlupp does well to burst past Kompany wide left, but Sagna clears up. Leicester are breaking with purpose when they have the ball, looking to use the pace of their wide men and lone striker Vardy.
    • 7'
City are weaving nice little passages of passing together but finding it very hard to break down the home team. Leicester, though having hardly any of the ball, look far more purposive and energetic when they do, and break to win a corner.
    • 8'
Cambiasso takes it but it's easily cleared. It goes all the way back to the wonderfully bearded Ben Hamer, who has looked assured with the ball at his feet, if not when it was in the air.
    • 9'
Cambiasso carries the ball forward and looks to release Vardy. Mangala clears but it falls to the Argentine midfielder again. His half-volley goes harmlessly over though.
    • 11'
VARDY HAS A SHOT TIPPED WIDE! Nasri is bundled off the ball and Leicester surge on. Vardy takes it past Managla who just manages to recover to nudge the striker's drive wide. Cambiasso's corner is excellent but Manchester City win a free-kick.
    • 13'
Konchesky hammers into Nasri again. Leicester are showing real spirit, even if it is occasionally trangressive.
    • 14'
Hamer kicks poorly this time, putting his team under pressure. City have found Leicester's energetic pressing hard to deal with so far though, the aristocratic strollers not finding enough time and space to add zip to their interplay.
    • 15'
Toure has a shot blocked after a sly little free-kick routine. A dark blue shirt flung himself in front of it, though, which is testament to the Foxes' desire in this game.
    • 16'
Silva takes a delicious, back-heeled touch after Mahrez miscontrols. He really is a gloriously deft player.
    • 18'
Hamer looks long for Mahrez again. He feels he was fouled, but the ball goes out for a throw-in. A frustrated Simpson goes through the back of Silva and gets a telling-off from Mr Moss.
    • 19'
Silva goes on a mazy run but is finally crowded out in the Leicester box. The home team break through Mahrez before Konchesky sloppily gives the ball away by passing it straight out.
    • 21'
Schlupp does very well to draw the foul from Fernando, running across him after pushing off Toure. Cambiasso takes the set piece, which is cleared, but then Toure concedes a second, closer free-kick, fouling Drinkwater.
    • 22'
CAMBIASSO IS JUST WIDE! A superb free-kick from deep catches Hart out and the Englishman scrambles across to try to cover it. The ball bends wide but without the curve, Hart would have been beaten for pace from around thirty-five yards out.
    • 24'
Mahrez again bursts forward but shows the slight lack of judgement that sometimes characterises his game, missing Vardy's run. He is talented but frustrating at times.
    • 25'
Silva cynically fouls Mahrez. Cambiasso bends it in from wide right but Sagna heads clear. City try to break at pace but Leicester intercept at the cost of a throw-in.
    • 27'
Clichy carries it forwards but runs out of space. Again Leicester look to Mahrez as the out ball. Cambiasso and Schlupp then combine and for a moment, City look short-handed at the back. Kompany manages to clear but the home side, contrary to expectations, look the better team at the moment.
    • 28'
Mahrez trips Lampard near the left edge of Leicester's box. This could be dangerous.
    • 29'
Silva bends it in and Hamer comes out to punch clear under pressure. He then holds the follow-up shot well, which will boost his confidence. Did I mention his beard?
    • 30'
When City have the ball, their normally slick interchange just isn't working.
    • 31'
GREAT SAVE HAMER! A City attack finally fashions a clear shooting chance for Toure on the edge of the box. He hits a typically fierce drive but the Foxes' keeper punges to his left and palms it clear.
    • 32'
The away team will be heartened by the creation of that chance for Toure because, so far, they have looked to be lacking that extra burst of energy or precision to find an opening against a very stifling Leicester set-up.
    • 34'
Hart is very rapidly off his line to clear but concedes a throw-in. The resulting Leicester attack breaks down though with a misplaced pass looking for the run of Vardy.
    • 35'
Pozo is offside. He just hasn't got into the game so far: he is too small to contest the ball in the air with Morgan and Wasilewski and the area he is playing in is too congested to drop into space. He needs passes in behind the slower Leicester centre-backs, but at the moment City cannot thread the
    • 37'
Pozo handles to give Leicester a free-kick. Vardy miscontrols a flicked pass but the Foxes snap the ball up again and try to build once more.

    • 40'
LAMPARD SCORES! Out of nothing, the veteran midfielder scores. Nasri goes on a weaving run from the edge of the box and down the left before pulling it back. The ball is slightly behind Lampard but he twists his body brilliantly to nudge it home. The Leicester marking was very poor though.
    • 41'
Leicester come straight back and Schlupp, who has been great, wins a corner. It comes to nothing though. The Foxes will be gutted to have gone behind so weakly after being on top for much of this game.
    • 42'
City are stroking it around at the back now, still lacking a bit of intensity but a bit more comfortable now that they have a one goal cushion. Let's take a moment to celebrate Frank Lampard's continued excellence for the away team, still hungry to score despite his age and what he's achieved.
    • 44'
The half is petering out and there will be one minute of stoppage time. Leicester will be wondering quite what they have to do to avoid letting games slip from their grasp. Toure slashes at a shot and it dribbles wide.
    • 45'
Off we go again! Leicester attack with purpose and Silva again fouls Mahrez to give the home side a free-kick in a dangerous spot.
    • 46'
Mahrez bends it in viciously but the ball can't find a dark blue shirt and City can clear their lines through Kompany.
    • 47'
Leicester come again and Simpson wins a throw off Clichy. Mahrez crosses but Hart gathers with ease.
    • 48'
Silva turns and toe-pokes a neat ball through towards the run of Lampard. The long leg of Morgan gets in the way though, which was fortunate for Leicester as Lampard would have been straight onto Hamer otherwise.
    • 50'
Kompany looks to play a long ball through to Nasri but Hamer gathers and looks to release Schlupp, who is surely one of the more underrated players in the League at the moment. Leicester end up playing it back though, but at least they have retained possession.
    • 51'
The Foxes lose it but Clichy forces Hart into a hurried clearance with a back pass which leaves his keeper under pressure. The ball is pinged forward and Hamer mishits his clearance, but Toure concedes a free-kick for contesting too strongly against Konchesky, with the Leicester defence in some disa
    • 53'
The Foxes are struggling to hit the heights of their first half performance and the classic stuttering lack of confidence that so often affects teams at the foot of the table seems to be hanging over them.
    • 54'
Clichy is forced into a covering challenge which gives Leicester an attacking throw-in. Drinkwater, who has been tody all day, keeps a Leicester attack going, but Simpson's cross is too high and Hart gathers it well.
    • 56'
Nasri is just on-side after a clever run across and behind Morgan. He pulls it back for Silva but the diminuitive Spaniard's touch is heavy and the ball goes wide of Hamer's right-hand post.
    • 57'
Schlupp does very well to find a cross into Vardy, but the striker is forced off the ball by Mangala. His challenge is clumsy and, while not an out-and-out penalty, there's no doubt we have all seen those given. Leicester are, arguably, unlucky again.
    • 58'
Milner is coming on for goal-scorer Frank Lampard. One of Nasri or Silva will move across into the middle.
    • 60'
SI J. Milner SO S. Nasri
    • 60'
      J. Milner comes on for F. Lampard.
    • 60'
Kompany is forced into an athletic clearance as Leicester start to assert themselves more. The Foxes will scent a chance to equalise if they carry on like this.
    • 61'
Ulloa is going to come on for Schlupp. Leicester will go to a more standard 4-4-2 and look to use Ulloa's height and power, especially from set pieces. Schlupp has been excellent, though he is probably very tired too from all the running he's had to do.
    • 62'
Mahrez is going onto the left where Schlupp was, with Vardy on the right but cutting inside. Ulloa's first contribution is to clatter Kompany, who is now down feeling his knee.
    • 64'
SI L. Ulloa SO S. Nasri
    • 64'
      J. Schlupp is replaced with L. Ulloa.
    • 64'
Kompany has been having grief with his knee of late so it is no surprise to see a bit of treatment for him. Ulloa will be canny to exploit that, if he can.
    • 65'
Leicester have an attacking throw-in which Hart gathers again. He has been very commanding in his box today, without having to make any real saves. But good goalkeepers do whatever is asked of them and he has dominated his area.
    • 67'
Drinkwater runs into a blind alley and is robbed of possession. City break quickly and Milner plays a one-two with Silva before whipping in a cross which is headed out for a corner.
    • 68'
Nasri takes and the Foxes clear. Silva finds Nasri in space but Drinkwater covers well and wins a throw-in. Leicester nudge the ball up the field, winning another throw.
    • 69'
Leicester are advancing into City territory, throw by throw. Drinkwater has to carry it back but wins a free-kick from Nasri. The Frenchman then thwarts the quick free-kick, earning a booking for his petulance.
    • 70'
      S. Nasri is cautioned by the referee.
    • 70'
Fernando puts it behind for a corner to stop Mahrez's through ball from finding Vardy's clever run.
    • 71'
The corner is long towards Morgan but it's hammered long by a City defender. City are able to attack into space as Navas readies himself for action. Leicester clear and win a free-kick as Fernando fouls. Vardy is coming off with Luke Powell, on loan from Manchester United, coming on.
    • 72'
Ulloa fouls Kompany as they contest a high ball. Navas will be replacing Pozo, so presumably either Silva or Nasri will be playing in a false nine role.
    • 73'
SI N. Powell SO S. Nasri
    • 73'
      J. Vardy is replaced with N. Powell.
    • 73'
Konchesky fouls Navas as they contest a header, barging into his back. Nasri and Silva look like they are rotating as the furthest player up the pitch, which might well help City in their attacks, as Morgan and Wasilewski are hardly the most mobile of defenders.
    • 74'
SI Jesús Navas SO S. Nasri
    • 74'
José Ángel Pozo is done for the day. Jesús Navas is his replacement.
    • 75'
Ulloa neatly lays it off to Konchesky and then runs onto his through ball, but Hart is once more rapidly out to clear. Kompany is down again, his hamstring clearly tweaking as he ran to cover Ulloa. This is not good for City, as their captain is coming off.
    • 76'
Demichelis is coming on but Kompany is able to walk off the pitch, which will be a heartening sight for the away team's fans. Leicester are also going to make their last change, with Knockaert, another pacy attacking player, coming on. Hart is booked for time-wasting.
    • 77'
SI M. Demichelis SO S. Nasri
    • 77'
      V. Kompany is done for the day. M. Demichelis is his replacement.
    • 78'
      J. Hart is yellow-carded.
    • 78'
Navas delays a pass just a fraction too long, leaving Nasri offside. Knockaert will replace Drinkwater, who has been effective in possession and worked hard in defence, without ever really igniting the game.
    • 79'
SI A. Knockaert SO S. Nasri
    • 79'
      A. Knockaert enters the game and replaces D. Drinkwater.
    • 79'
ULLOA'S SHOT DEFLECTED! Mahrez sets off on a run and finds Ulloa with a reverse pass back across goal. The lanky Argetine turns and fires off a shot, but it's deflected and dribbles wide with Hart scrambling. The corner comes to nothing.
    • 80'
Managla and Hart both go for the same ball, the French defender having to head clear under pressure from Morgan. Cambiasso takes another corner but the away side break rapidly through Navas. The attack loses impetus and Leicester can clear.
    • 81'
Konchesly clears behind for a corner nuder pressure from Navas. City are still asserting themselves when on the front foot and Leicester will have to be careful not to leave themselves too open. Nasri's corner is cleared by Powell.
    • 82'
Toure creates some space for himself, twisting and turning away from challenges, but his shot goes over. For such a large man, his control at pace is exceptional.
    • 83'
Leicester win a free-kick as Knockaert is fouled by Fernando. This is a real chance for the home team.
    • 84'
The free-kick is fired into the wall by the player who won it. Manchester City break and Navas volleys a cross from Nasri straight over.
    • 86'
Fernando is down and looking pained. There was no one around him as he went to ground, so I'm a bit mystified by that, in truth. A Cambiasso through ball is over-hit and Hart has another dalliance with time-wasting and is urged to get on with it by the referee.
    • 88'
Navas and Sagna combine to stretch the Leicester defence on their left. Toure picks it up, then finds Nasri, who brings it on to his right foot and forces Hamer into a decent save with a low, bending shot.
    • 89'
Leicester have yet another attacking free-kick on the right. Cambiasso floats it to the back post and Powell forces Sagna into conceding a corner. The French full-back defended that well. The corner is wasted by Powell.
    • 90'
Konchesky whips a nasty cross into the City box which is well cleared. There will be five minutes of extra time. Hart has the ball. Has a player ever been sent off for two yellow cards for time-wasting?
