      CHANCE! Newcastle have started the game very brightly and some nice work by Gouffran down the right hand side saw the Frenchman pick out Perez, who steered the ball just wide of the post.

      The visitors are having the better share of possession in the opening minutes and again found some joy down the right hand side as Sissoko played a cute cutback, but couldn't find anybody in the box before Collins cleared.

      West Ham find their rhythm for the first time and a nice burst down the left from Jarvis saw him pull the ball back to an oncoming Downing, who drove a shot straight at Elliot.

      Both teams are playing their way out of defence so far but are being rushed by one another when they reach the middle of the pitch. A clash of the same 4-2-3-1 formation is apparent.
