That's all from me. I've been Keeghann Sinanan and it's been fun!
    • 0'
That's the end of a fantastic game! Hard to deny either of these teams a point, as Villa's first-half control was matched by a second-half renaissance from Burnley. It isn't the best result in terms of moving these teams out of the lower regions of the table, but both managers have plenty of positiv

Half time here at Turf Moor, and Villa are deservedly in front. They've created the better chances in this game and generally looked a step ahead of their opponents. Burnley have shown some positive signs, but the final ball or shot from them has usually been off. Stay tuned for the second half of w

After the draw against Southampton, Lambert too makes only a single change to his XI. Veteran attacking midfielder Joe Cole replaces Charles N'Zogbia, and the former England man will flank Gabby Agbonlahor with Andreas Weimann.
    • 0'
Sean Dyche has made one alteration to the team that won 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium. It's an enforced change, as Michael Duff's injury hastens the call for Michael Keane to step into the centre of defence. Scott Arfield, who missed the last match due to injury, is fit enough for a spot on the bench

Aston Villa Subs: Given, Bacuna, Richardson, N’Zogbia, Lowton, Robinson, Grealish.

Aston Villa (4-3-3): Guzan; Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho; Westwood, Sanchez, Cleverley; Cole, Agbonlahor, Weimann.
    • 0'
Burnley Subs: Gilks, Mee, Long, Arfield, Sordell, Jutkiewicz, Wallace.
    • 0'
Burlney (4-4-1-1): Heaton; Trippier, Shackell, Keane, Ward; Kightly, Marney, Jones, Boyd; Barnes; Ings.
    • 0'
Aston Villa will be going into this game and the ones that follow without the services of Roy Keane. The former midfielder resigned on Friday, ostensibly to focus on his role with the Republic of Ireland. It's a distraction that the Villans and the under-pressure Lambert could have done without.

Burnley have had a problem with goals this season, only notching eight in their opening 12 games. The signs don't point to a thriller today, since Villa are the only other side in the league to score even less than the Clarets, with a paltry six goals for Lambert's men.
    • 0'
Villa have not won in eight Premier League games, a far cry from the very beginning of the season when they won three of their opening four. Two draws in their last two games against Southampton and West Ham have at least broken a run of defeats, but Paul Lambert is feeling the heat with his team ho
    • 0'
Things have only begun to look up recently for Burnley in the league. The Clarets triumphed for the first time this season against Hull just before the international break, before winning for the second time on the trot at Stoke City last time out.

Hello and welcome to another weekend of Premier League action, as Aston Villa visit Burnley. Both sides have struggled to start the season, with the hosts currently one place off the foot of the table, while Villa sit in 16th. This afternoon presents a huge opportunity for both to move up the standi
    • 1'
      We're off!
    • 2'
Early chance for Villa! Hutton marauds down the right-hand side, and plays a lovely ball across the face of goal, that Agbonlahor can't divert on target, missing the far post by inches!
    • 4'
Real panic at the back for Burnley as Villa put them under pressure. Agbonlahor is once again on the end of things, this time latching onto a feed from Cole, seeing his finish deflected for a corner at the last.
    • 6'
SCRAMBLE! The corner comes in and it's right into the heart of the area. Keane gets a head to the ball, there's more confusion and it needs a further nod from Marney to prevent the goal!
    • 8'
A superb tempo to this game has developed, mostly down the the enterprise of the Villans. Agbonlahor, as ever, is causing problems with his pace and movement, stretching the Burnley defence.
    • 10'
Burnley are finally starting to show some intent in the opposition half. Kightly has a shot from distance blocked, before Ings is also shunted off a good shooting chance. Back-and-forth stuff.
    • 12'
Another Villa corner is rife with danger, and Clark's header is deflected off target without Marney knowing much about that! Set pieces look to be a promising path for Villa to exploit in this game.
    • 14'
Clark fluffs his lines from another headed chance, before Burnley hit back at the other end, with Kightly seeing another effort head narrowly off target! Doesn't seem like we'll have to wait long for an opener!
    • 16'
Some good stuff from Burnley in the past few minutes to shake off that unconvincing start to the game. However, Villa also look quality on the break, and the quality of deliveries from wide areas in this game has been outstanding.
    • 18'
Clark is being picked out on almost every set piece. He sends another header over the top. Burnley need to tighten up on him, because one of these times he's going to take his chance!
    • 20'
Burnley are leaving a bit too much space behind their defence for my liking. Villa certainly have the speed to exploit through Agbonlahor, and their extra midfield player is giving them more passing avenues.
    • 22'
Both of these sides are focusing almost all of their attacks down the flanks. It's making for a great show as the balls continue to be accurate and deep, causing some excitement in the stands.
    • 24'
Ings wastes a good crossing opportunity before down at the other end, Cleverley's shot from distance is right down the throat of the keeper. No sign of the energy levels letting up.
    • 26'
Yet another deep cross comes in, this time from Hutton. It's aimed towards the far post and Agbonlahor is challenging for the ball, but Heaton can claim, aided by a cushioned header from a defender.
    • 28'
      M. Kightly is cautioned by the referee.
    • 28'
Kightly wastes a good chance to orchestrate on the break after Villa were caught in possession. He's had a few glimpses at opportunity so far, but it's clear that his composure is lacking.
    • 29'
Oh dear. Kightly goes from bad to worse, clearing the ball right back to the opposition before taking out Hutton in his haste to clean up his own mess. The referee duly awards him the first booking of the game.
    • 31'
Sanchez is robbed of the ball in his own half by Boyd, who needs no second invitation to have a go on goal. It's on target, but right down the sight line of Guzan, who makes no mistake.
    • 33'
Villa have taken their foot off the accelerator in the past few minutes, as Burnley have seen more of the ball. However, the execution from the home side isn't as purposeful as Villa's best spell earlier in the half.
    • 35'
Burnley are starting to lose concentration again. Villa are finding the space on the flanks that they once did, and the home side's back four really need to start sitting deeper.
    • 37'
Clark gets flattened by Marney, and it draws the ire of the fans and almost every Villa player on the pitch. The referee has a big decision to make, and sensibly decides that a yellow card is sufficient punishment.
    • 38'
      G J. Cole Assist A. Weimann
    • 38'
The assist came from A. Weimann.
    • 38'
VILLA HAVE THE OPENER! And it's been coming! Burnley simply react too late on that play, as Weimann's clever pass from the right is stabbed home deftly by Cole at the near post!
    • 38'
      D. Marney goes into the referee's book.
    • 40'
On his first Premier League start for his new club, Joe Cole has scored. It's a completely deserved goal for Villa, who have simply been the better side, in terms of both intent and execution.
    • 41'
      T. Cleverley is yellow-carded.
    • 42'
Trippier lives up to his name as he loses his balance thanks to a clumsy intervention from Cleverley. The former Manchester United midfielder sees yellow for that infraction.
    • 44'
Ings takes a pass well to set himself up for a shot, and aims for the bottom corner, but Guzan is on it in a flash, pushing it around the post. Probably the best chance of the game for Burnley.
    • 45'
      A. Hutton receives a yellow card.
    • 46'
      Here we go again!
    • 48'
BURNLEY COME CLOSE! The home side make a great start to the new half, as Ings turns provider for Boyd, whose effort takes a deflection off a defender that prevents it from hitting the target!
    • 50'
The game seems to have picked up where it left off. Half time has thankfully done nothing to dull the momentum of both sides. As Burnley try to force the issue, Villa lick their chops on the counter.
    • 52'
Weimann forces another save from Heaton, taking aim from distance. Good attempt, but you would be surprised if the keeper was beaten from there. It was a good height for him.
    • 54'
MUCH BETTER FROM BURNLEY! Ings has been active in this game and knocks the ball into the path of Kightly. However, Guzan positions himself well to block the Clarets winger!
    • 56'
Weiman takes aim from long distance once again. This time, it's a little more testing for Heaton, who is forced to beat the ball away to his left. Again though, it wasn't a shot that you would expect the keeper to let past him.
    • 58'
CHANCES CONTINUE TO FALL! Burnley work the ball to Tripper out on the right. He steadies himself to pick out Ings' run, but the striker misses the target after trying to guide a header inside the far post!
    • 60'
An hour gone and I'm not sure how there's only been one goal in this game. It's been end-to-end stuff throughout, and Burnley have really made a good effort to get themselves level.
    • 62'
Clark leaves a gap in his own half and Ings nearly slips into the box thanks to a feed from Marney. However, Okore reads the situation well and is there to welcome the Burnley striker to tackleville.
    • 64'
Looks like we're set for some substitutions, with the game entering a crucial spell. You wonder why these sides are the two lowest scoring in the division given the absolute entertainment we've had at Turf Moor.
    • 65'
SI S. Arfield SO A. Weimann
    • 65'
SI L. Jutkiewicz SO A. Weimann
    • 65'
      L. Jutkiewicz enters play, replacing A. Barnes.
    • 65'
      M. Kightly is done for the day. S. Arfield is his replacement.
    • 66'
Double swap from Dyche, who hauls off Barnes and Kightly. The latter especially has had his chances, but really lacked any sort of cool head when needed. On comes Arfield and Jutkiewicz.
    • 67'
SI J. Grealish SO A. Weimann
    • 67'
      J. Grealish enters play, replacing J. Cole.
    • 67'
NEARLY AN INSTANT IMPACT! Jutkiewicz, barely a minute off the bench, attacks a hanging ball in the area but misses the far post by inches with practically everyone else standing and watching!
    • 68'
Lambert responds with a change of his own introducing the 19-year-old Grealish into the fray. The youngster replaces a man 14 years his senior, as Cole jogs off to end a very accomplished first start for Villa.
    • 70'
Villa start to push forward in numbers a bit more. A second goal for them will be so crucial to settle a few Villan nerves, given the way that Burnley have threatened in this half.
    • 72'
A bit of a lull in the game, which is not a surprise given the frantic pace that it's been played at almost since the first whistle, and the recent influx of subs to disrupt the patterns that have developed between players. Sometimes you need a breather.
    • 74'
Burnley are being frustrated at the moment as Villa keep a hold of the ball. The home side have given away a pair of free kicks in haphazard attempts to win the ball back.
    • 76'
On Villa's latest free kick, Sanchez takes aim from all of 30 yards, getting some dip on the ball but never coming close to hitting the target. He's had a mixed afternoon, the Colombian, who has coughed up possession a few times.
    • 78'
SI K. Richardson SO A. Weimann
    • 78'
      K. Richardson enters play, replacing A. Weimann.
    • 78'
Aston Villa have had 17 shots to Burnley's eight. Tells the story of what has been almost a thrill-a-minute contest. Bet the Villans won't mind if there's not another attempt on either goal between now and the final whistle though.
    • 80'
Grealish has been active since coming on and makes a good run down the blind side of the fullback to put himself in a position to cross. He's got options in the middle, but hangs his ball beyond all of them.
    • 82'
The home fans are giving it a go late on in a bid to spark their side into a final surge. However, Villa are seeing a lot of the ball in the opposition half, which is making those efforts futile at the moment.
    • 83'
SI R. Wallace SO A. Weimann
    • 83'
      D. Jones is replaced with R. Wallace.
    • 84'
Final change of the game for the hosts as Wallace comes on for Jones. Moments later, Burnley win a corner, their first positive contribution in a long while. No surprise to see the fans in voice for the upcoming set piece.
    • 85'
Disappointing delivery that is cleared easily by Villa. This will allow the visitors to resume their monopolization of the ball. All is not lost yet for the hosts, but they need to make something happen and fast.
    • 86'
      J. Okore goes into the referee's book.
    • 86'
PENALTY TO BURNLEY! Jutkiewicz tries to latch onto a high ball behind the defence with Okore draped all over him. The substitute goes down under the pressure, and the referee makes the call! It was a 50-50 decision in my mind.
    • 87'
      C. Clark gets yellow.
    • 87'
BURNLEY HAVE DONE IT! Ings makes no mistake from the spot, smashing the ball into the roof of the net with Guzan diving the wrong way. This place has exploded!
    • 89'
Some late controversy here as Ings tries to run onto a pass, but barrels right into Clark. Suggestions of an illegal block as both players wrestle each other to the turf. The referee stops play to make sure that they're both okay.
    • 90'
SI M. Lowton SO A. Weimann
    • 90'
      M. Lowton enters play, replacing C. Clark.
    • 90'
Richardson is terribly casual with the ball near his own corner flag, and Boyd accepts the invitation to rob him of the ball. He advances into the box down the byline, but Okore is there to make a timely interception.
    • 90'
SO CLOSE! Burnley are piling on the pressure late on. Wallace has made a great impact in the last few minutes, playing another choice ball into the area that Jutkiewicz attacks at the far post, missing by a hair.
    • 90'
OFF THE BASE OF THE POST! Almost a fantastically worked winner for the hosts, as Wallace tees up Ings inside the box, who takes it past the first man, but prods the ball onto the frame of the goal!
    • 45'
      A. Barnes is cautioned by the referee.
    • 45'
Barnes uses his hand to deflect a high ball onto the post and is booked. This came moments after Hutton wrestled Boyd to the turf to get his name taken as well. Busy man, the referee.
    • 90'
All the momentum is with Burnley as we enter the final moments of this game. The home side, spurred on by their fans, are getting the ball forward as quickly as they can.
