Full time in Stamford Bridge. It has been an exhibition win for Chelsea as they continue their march towards the Barclays Premier League title with a comfortable 2-0 victory over 10-man West Brom. Diego Costa and Eden Hazard got on the scoresheet in the first half and the Baggies' task was made all

Half time in Stamford Bridge. Chelsea would have been approaching the match today expecting a rather tough match against a usually rigid West Brom side, but they have split open the Baggies' defence time and time again and head into the break at 2-0. Diego Costa opened the scoring and Hazard made it

West Brom, meanwhile, have made four changes to their starting XI from the loss to Newcastle. Youssouf Mulumbu, Jonas Olsson and Sebastien Pocognoli are out and Victor Anichebe drops to the bench. Chris Baird, Craig Gardner, Claudio Yacob, and Stephane Sessegnon come in today.

Three massive boosts for Chelsea today then. Diego Costa makes the starting XI after some recent fitness issues and vital midfield duo, Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, have shook off respective knocks to start after being doubtful pre-match.

This fixture at Stamford Bridge last season proved to be an eventful clash, with West Brom eventually earning a point in a 2-2 draw. However, the equalising goal from Chelsea in the dying minutes came from a controversial penalty awarded by referee Andre Marriner, which Eden Hazard tucked away. The

In the lead up to the international break, West Brom were enjoying a decent unbeaten run in the league, but a potentially damaging 2-0 home defeat by Newcastle immediately before the international fixtures has left coach Alan Irvine with the task of buoying his players once again.

Jose Mourinho and his squad will be looking to continue their charge towards the Premier League title this afternoon by maintaining their perfect record at Stamford Bridge so far this campaign. The Blues have won all five of their home matches in the league, and conceded just three goals in the proc

Good afternoon folks! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the Barclays Premier League clash between Chelsea and West Brom from Stamford Bridge!
    • 1'
We are under way at Stamford Bridge!
    • 3'
It has been a tentative start to the match here in London as both sides just find their feet in terms of their passing. A few long punts up top but they have been successfully gobbled up by each defence.
    • 4'
Good defending from Lescott. The former Manchester City man certainly has his hands full with the powerful Diego Costa today, but in the first duel between the duo he comes out on top with an important interception inside the West Brom box.
    • 6'
What a save by Ben Foster!!! A cross is floated in to the back post and headed back into the danger area by a Chelsea outside the six yard box. Terry looks to strike home from close range but the West Brom keeper somehow makes the block on the line! How did that not go in?!
    • 8'
Sessegnon collects the ball around 30 yards out and takes a few strides forward before lashing a right-footed strike at goal. It was struck decently, but ends up flashing by the post, not giving Courtois a problem. Positive play from the West Brom man though!
    • 10'
Oscar has already sprayed one or two absolutely superb diagonal crosses to the advanced Ivanovic on the right wing. However, on this occasion the Brazilian gets his bearings wrong and screws the pass wayward.
    • 11'
      G Diego Costa Assist Oscar
    • 11'
      The assist came from Oscar.
    • 11'
GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL FOR CHELSEAAAA! THE HOSTS TAKE THE LEAD! Oscar is involved positively once again as he collects the ball on the left wing and checks back before swinging a cross into the box. Diego Costa chests down before smashing a strike past Foster! Where was the West Brom defence there! One-
    • 12'
Slight suspicions of offside about that goal, but looking at it closely it seems as if Costa was played ONSIDE by Wisdom at right-back!
    • 13'
West Brom have prided themselves on their organisation so far this season but they just lost concentration at the vital moment, and Chelsea, to their credit, pounced. The Baggies will need to show a little more going forward now!
    • 15'
A corner kick is cleared out of the box by West Brom but Chelsea manage to recycle back into the danger area. Cahill latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and looks to get a strike away, but he is put off slightly by the important challenge of Yacob. The shot goes wide in the end.
    • 17'
Perhaps predictably, that goal by Costa has gave Chelsea plenty of confidence on the ball. Fabregas and Matic are becoming more prominent in the middle of the park now and it is contributing to the hosts' domination of the ball.
    • 19'
Costaaaaa! Chelsea should be two up! Ivanovic typically gallops forward down the right-hand side and teases a superb cross in to his team-mate at the front post, who can't get a good enough connection on a strike to turn the ball towards goal!
    • 21'
West Brom just can't gain any ascendancy in their play at the moment. They are being allowed some room at the back to pop some passes around, but whenever possession comes into the middle of the park they lose the tempo and accuracy in their balls.
    • 23'
Cahill and Terry's reading of the game has been excellent so far. Lescott in particular is aiming to come out of the West Brom defence to fizz passes into the feet of Sessegnon and Berahino, but the Chelsea duo intercept time and time again. No joy in the final third for the visitors as of yet.
    • 25'
      G E. Hazard Assist Oscar
    • 25'
      Fàbregas gave the assist.
    • 25'
GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLL FOR CHELSEA!! THAT'S TWO!! Hazard latches on to a low corner kick to the front post and takes one touch before squeezing a left-footed strike past Foster! Two-nil!
    • 26'
Really poor defending again from West Brom! Hazard had the freedom of the penalty box to take a touch and get his shot away!
    • 27'
Brunt looks to claw his side back into the match by collecting possession in midfield and driving forward. He spots a space in the left corner and attempts to curl a strike past Courtois, but the Belgian gets down to make the comfortable stop.
    • 29'
      C. Yacob goes off after a red card!
    • 29'
Yacob SENT OFF for West Brom! Chelsea enjoy a period of possession on the edge of the box and the ball comes to Costa, who is completely taken out by the Argentine, who comes in two-footed! Can't really argue with that one! Alan Irvine looks crestfallen on the bench!
    • 31'
This could prove to be a very, very long afternoon for West Brom if this keeps up. Two goals down and a man down with more than an hour to play! Chelsea smell blood...
    • 33'
Hazard goes on a signature run down the left-hand side as he twists and turns and looks to find a way into the penalty area. Dorrans is back helping out Wisdom at full-back, but ends up giving away a rather needless free kick.
    • 35'
Cheeky from Oscar! The Brazilian receives the ball to feet inside the box around 10 yards out and attempts to backheel a strike into the corner. In the end the attempt takes a deflection on the way through which makes it easier for Foster to get down and collect. An A for the idea!
    • 37'
Well it has all been pretty grim for West Brom so far. Their performance so far is summed up by Gardner getting into a decent position on the edge of the box, only to slice a half volley way over the bar into the stand. Not his best.
    • 39'
Hazard strays in from the left wing and looks to make a run in behind the West Brom defence. Fabregas spots the run and attempts to dink a pass over the top, but is just intercepted by Dawson. Almost a brilliant move by Chelsea!
    • 41'
Chelsea should be three up! The home side split the West Brom defence open with a superb move and Ivanovic runs through on goal before unselfishly squaring for Azpilicueta, but the pass was just behind the Spaniard! The two full backs were the players furthest forward for the hosts!
    • 43'
Great goalkeeping by Foster! Hazard swings an excellent pass in between Dawson and Lescott and Costa run through on goal, but the Brazilian's shot is charged down by the West Brom keeper, who eventually pounces on the loose possession!
    • 45'
Dear, oh dear. Berahino somehow manages to top Gardner's poor shot a few moments ago by sending a strike even higher into the stand. Fair enough it was on his left foot, but he should be doing better than that. The Englishman cutting a frustrated figure at the moment.
    • 46'
We are back under way in this Barclays Premier League clash!
    • 47'
MATIC!! How has he missed that one! The former Benfica midfielder holds his position at the back post and latches on to a cross on the volley, but sends his attempt over the bar. He had bags of time to take the ball down and pick his spot! Dorrans completely left his man!
    • 49'
You have to feel for Berahino a bit. The West Brom striker looks to take the initiative by darting towards the Chelsea defence, but suddenly finds himself surrounded by FIVE opposition players, and eventually surrenders possession. He needs some support up top.
    • 51'
Saaaaaaaaaave by Foster! Terry gets the better of his marker inside the West Brom box and rises high to power a header down towards goal, but the goalkeeper remains solid to beat the attempt away!
    • 53'
Ivanovic has been at his marauding best down the right-hand side today and once again he gets forward and hits the byline. He looks for Costa with a wicked cross inside but the West Brom defence do enough to smuggle behind for a goal kick.
    • 55'
You wonder what kind of team talk Alan Irvine must have given to his players at half time, as they as stuck between a rock and a hard place at the moment. At 2-0 they have a small chance of getting something out of the game, but if they go forward they risk conceding further goals. A heavy defeat ce
    • 57'
Hazard drifts in from his position on the left in an attempt to find some possession. He ends up going beyond the West Brom defence, who trigger their offside trap. If the visitors had did that in the lead up to the first goal the game could have been different!
    • 59'
Despite what they are up against, the West Brom players seem to be having a contest as to who can hit the highest row in the stand with a shot. The latest candidate is Brunt, who just about hits row Z with a strike from 30 yards.
    • 61'
West Brom definitely seem to be cutting their losses here as basically every play bar Berahino is camped on the edge of their own box. Chelsea are enjoying possession so freely, so it may be a case of how much the home side want to go on and grab more goals here.
    • 63'
It looks as if Victor Anichebe may be entering the action. It is some rather unorthodox warming up by the former Everton striker though as he lies on the ground and moves his legs in the air. The West Brom fans will be needing a lie down too after this that's for sure!
    • 65'
Without putting down the performance of West Brom too much, it is rather incredible the amount of Chelsea possession we have seen in this second period. The Baggies may be a man down, but they are lucky if they have seen 20% of the ball since the break.
    • 67'
First change of the match and it comes from West Brom. Baird comes off and he'll be replaced by Cristian Gamboa, who will come on at left-back, which will probably trigger Wisdom moving across to right.
    • 68'
      SI C. Gamboa SO Oscar
    • 68'
      C. Gamboa enters play, replacing C. Baird.
    • 69'
Ivanovic shows his attacking ambition once again as he drives into the final third and eventually into the box. On this occasion though he should be more selfish as he opts to pass inside to Costa rather than having a crack at goal. West Brom eventually clear the danger.
    • 71'
Great save again from Foster! Fabregas pulls the strings again as he receives the ball on the edge of the box before threading a lovely pass through the middle for Hazard. The Belgian looks to lift the ball over the oncoming keeper, who ends up making another important block!
    • 73'
Well we've got just under 15 minutes remaining here and it would be fair to say that both sets of supporters have the right to feel slightly aggrieved at the second half performance of their respective sides. West Brom have looked more solid but have showed zero attacking ambition, and Chelsea shoul
    • 75'
      Willian receives a yellow card.
    • 75'
That is such a silly booking for Willian. The Brazilian, who rightfully receives plenty of plaudits for his tracking back, earns a booking for a late challenge on Gamboa near the touchline. Completely needless.
    • 77'
We've got a little break in play at the moment as Costa is down after an aerial collision with Dawson. Looked like a sore one, but the Brazilian should be okay. Don't dish it out if you can't take it, Diego!
    • 78'
      SI V. Anichebe SO Oscar
    • 78'
      V. Anichebe comes on for S. Berahino.
    • 78'
West Brom make their second change of the match and to be fair to Alan Irvine, it is a positive one. Victor Anichebe eventually enters the action and he'll replace Gardner. Striker on for a midfielder then! Could the Baggies cause some stress to Chelsea in the last 10?
    • 79'
      SI L. Rémy SO Oscar
    • 79'
Oscar is done for the day. L. Rémy is his replacement.
    • 80'
Chelsea follow suit and make a substitution of their own; their first of the game. Oscar walks of the pitch to a warm applause from the home crowd and he'll be replaced by Loic Remy, who is given 10 minutes to get on the scoresheet.
    • 82'
West Brom have did quite well to weather the Chelsea storm in this second half but they could make it a shaky last few minutes for the home side of they were to grab a goal soon. It all depends on how ambitious they want to be, but this afternoon could have went a lot worse.
    • 84'
      SI D. Drogba SO Oscar
    • 84'
      SI J. Morrison SO Oscar
    • 84'
      G. Dorrans is done for the day. J. Morrison is his replacement.
    • 84'
      D. Drogba comes on for Diego Costa.
    • 84'
Both sides make a change as we approach the last five minutes of normal time. Dorrans is replaced by James Morrison for West Brom and, for Chelsea, Costa comes off for Drogba, who receives a raucous ovation from the Stamford Bridge faithful.
    • 86'
      SI Ramires SO Oscar
    • 86'
      Willian is replaced with Ramires.
    • 86'
Third and final change from Jose Mourinho and it sees Willian replaced by Ramires, who will just add some legs to that Chelsea midfield in the last few minutes. This win for the Blues has never been in doubt for basically an hour.
    • 88'
The game is just winding down at the moment as both sides look to have accepted their fate. Three points on the board again for Chelsea and they continue their perfect record at home in the league this season.
    • 90'
Well, that is just completely terrible by Brunt. Wisdom actually does pretty well to get down the left-hand side and then passes back to the Northern Irishman, who sends an attempted cross into the box high behind the goal. Home time.
