    • KICK OFF

Burnley huffed and puffed but remain without a win and second-bottom in the table. They struggled to trouble Howard and need to find a cutting edge if they are to climb the table. For now, I've been Tom Maston and thanks for joining me.
    • 0'
The final whistle blows and Everton have done enough to record back-to-back league wins for the first time this season. Eto'o showed his class with two fine finishes and the Toffees fully deserved their victory as they climb back into the top half.
    • 0'
The two teams are making their way out onto the pitch as the second half approaches. Everton were not totally convincing in the first period, but have the lead and will be looking to put the game out of sight after the break.
    • 0'
Burnley have shown plenty of attacking endeavour and Ings' goal at least gives them something to hang onto as they head into the second period. I'll be back in ten minutes to see if they can find a way back into the match.
    • 0'
Everton are able to see the half out despite Arfield driving over the crossbar just seconds before the break. The visitors have not been at their best but two fine team goals from Eto'o and Lukaku gives them a half-time lead they just about deserve.
    • 0'
The sides make their way out onto the pitch, and we are just moments away from getting going at Turf Moor. Will Burnley get their first win of the season, or can Everton's good recent form continue? We're about to find out...
    • 0'
The two teams have made their way into the tunnel as the two sets of supporters begin to raise the volume in the stadium. The players are about to enter the arena with kick-off less than five minutes away.
    • 0'
There are now less than ten minutes until kick-off in east Lancashire, and there should be a great atmosphere with plenty of Everton fans having made the short trip up the M6. The players have completed their warm-ups as Everton look to win at Turf Moor for the first time since 1970.
    • 0'
Everton too make just one change from their last league outing, with Ross Barkley on the bench after playing his first two matches of the season earlier in the week. Samuel Eto'o replaces him and looks set to lead the line with Romelu Lukaku joining Steven Naismith and Leon Osman in behind.
    • 0'
Burnley make one change from the side that were defeated by West Ham last time out, with Stephen Ward replacing Ben Mee at left-back. Last season's top goalscorer Danny Ings remains up front as he chases his first Premier League goal.

Before we go any further, the two team line-ups have been announced ahead of kick-off in around 20 minutes...
    • 0'
Burnley, meanwhile, have not made the return to the Premier League their fans would have wanted as they remain winless after eight games. The Clarets have been competitive, and Manchester United are among the sides to have dropped points at Turf Moor this season.
    • 0'
The Toffees have struggled for consistency so far this campaign, though their 3-0 win over Aston Villa last Saturday has lifted the spirits of supporters at Goodison Park. A battling draw against Lille in midweek has left them in prime position to reach the knockout stages of the Europa League, and

Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League encounter between Burnley and Everton. Sean Dyche's team are still chasing their first win of the campaign while Roberto Martinez's side are finally beginning to tick after a slow start to the season. I'm Tom Maston and I'll be bringing you al
    • 1'
The usual pre-match niceties are over, and Everton kick-off to get us underway...
    • 4'
      G S. Eto'o Assist L. Baines
    • 4'
      L. Baines gave the assist.
    • 4'
GOAL!!! ETO'O BREAKS THE DEADLOCK! Everton keep possession well in the early stages and strike with their first real attack. Baines is freed down the left-hand side before crossing into a dangerous area, and Eto'o rises highest to head past Heaton via the crossbar.
    • 5'
The visitors threaten again as Eto'o carries the ball through the middle before looking to free Lukaku, but the pass is too heavy and the Belgium striker cannot get onto it.
    • 7'
Burnley are struggling to get out of their own half and keep hold of the ball for any period of time. The Everton fans are in full voice with their side dominating proceedings.
    • 9'
Eto'o has started in a slightly withdrawn role behind Lukaku rather than the other way around, and the former Barcelona man is having plenty of joy as he drops deep to keep the ball ticking over. Burnley must find a way to get close to him.
    • 10'
Burnley threaten for the first time as Ings gets the better of Alcaraz before feeding Kightly. The winger's ball is too heavy, but Jutkiewicz does well to rescue it before cutting inside and dragging a shot wide.
    • 12'
Lukaku turns 30 yards from goal before opting to shoot, but his effort is always off target and slides wide of Heaton's left-hand post. The Toffees remain on top.
    • 14'
Trippier and Boyd combine well down the right-hand side, and Barry has to track back to win the ball off the former as he looked to put the ball into the box.
    • 16'
Burnley have begun to get a foothold in this game, and Naismith does well to throw himself in front of Jones' long-range effort to block. Everton not having it all their own way.
    • 18'
Despite Everton's early dominance, there is no real pattern to this game as yet as both teams look to get their own passing games going. The hosts could do with creating something to raise the volume inside the stadium.
    • 20'
      G D. Ings Assist L. Baines
    • 20'
      L. Jutkiewicz gave the assist.
    • 20'
GOAL!!! INGS EQUALISES! Burnley are gifted an equaliser after a horrendous pass from Lukaku. The striker plays the ball straight to Jutkiewicz, who in turn plays Ings in behind. The England Under-21 international still has plenty to do but shows great composure to round Howard and slot into the empt
    • 22'
JUST WIDE! Burnley have been lifted by that goal and go close to taking the lead as the ball falls for Arfield on the edge of the box, but his controlled volley skids narrowly wide of the upright.
    • 24'
      R. Lukaku is yellow-carded.
    • 24'
Lukaku's disappointing start to the match continues as he goes into the book for a late challenge on Boyd. The striker is cutting a frustrated figure at present.
    • 26'
Lukaku does well to dig out a cross on the right-hand side of the box, but the ball is behind Eto'o at the back post and flies out for a throw-in to the home side. Burnley looking comfortable at present.
    • 28'
Everton are finally able to enjoy a prolonged period of possession in midfield, with Burnley working hard to win the ball back around the centre circle.
    • 29'
      G R. Lukaku Assist L. Baines
    • 29'
GOAL!!! LUKAKU MAKES IT 2-1! That possession play pays dividends as finally the Toffees make their way into the final third where Eto'o and Naismith combine to find Lukaku. The striker's first shot is well blocked, but he makes no mistake with the second effort as it bounces over Heaton's despairing
    • 31'
      G. Boyd goes into the referee's book.
    • 31'
That goal has silenced the home crowd, and Boyd takes his frustration out on Baines as he trips the left-back. Referee Marriner has no option but to brandish a yellow card.
    • 33'
JUST WIDE! Burnley spring a good counterattack as Jutkiewicz uses his strength to get away from Alcaraz before going for goal with an angled drive that Howard can wave past his near post. Better from the Clarets.
    • 35'
Kightly wins a free-kick right on the edge of the area from McCarthy, but Jones cannot get the ball over the wall with his left-footed effort and the Toffees are able to bring the ball clear.
    • 37'
Other than when they have found the net, Everton have struggled to threaten Heaton in the Burnley goal, with Baines and Coleman being kept relatively quiet on their respective flanks.
    • 39'
Kightly does well up against Coleman on the Burnley left, and though his cross is cleared by Barry, Trippier is able to deliver a ball from the opposite flank. Howard flaps at it but in the end can watch the ball float out for a goal kick.
    • 40'
OFF THE CROSSBAR! Almost a carbon copy of Eto'o's goal for Everton as Osman this time gets in behind on the left-hand side before pulling the ball back. Naismith is waiting at the back post, but his looping header comes back off the bar for Heaton to collect.
    • 42'
Both teams are beginning to spring counterattacks with the half-time break approaching. Eventually the game is halted as Eto'o receives some treatment after a challenge from Duff.
    • 44'
Eto'o eventually gets back to his feet and looks as if he is ready to continue. The former Cameroon captain has shown plenty of nice touches in this first half to go with his early goal.
    • 46'
No changes for either side at the break, and Burnley get the second half underway...
    • 48'
Alcaraz is very lucky to get away with a mistake inside his own area. The former Wigan defender miscontrols Kightly's left-wing cross, but Jutkiewicz's subsequent header is straight at Howard and easy for the goalkeeper.
    • 50'
Not quite the same start to the second half from Everton as they made in the first, but the Toffees are looking to control possession and slowly make their way into Burnley territory.
    • 52'
      S. Arfield goes into the referee's book.
    • 52'
Arfield is the latest man to go into the referee's book as he trips Osman from behind. No complaints from the Burnley midfielder as he joins Boyd and Lukaku on a yellow card.
    • 54'
Little goalmouth action as yet in the second half, with both teams looking to keep the ball in midfield and build patiently. Not quite the tempo of the first 45 minutes as yet.
    • 55'
      S. Naismith is yellow-carded.
    • 55'
Naismith is rightly shown a yellow card after dragging back and then tripping Trippier as he looked to get away down the right-hand side.
    • 57'
Ings, who has been quiet since his goal, looks to chase a long ball down the right-hand side, but Jagielka is able to come across and see the ball out for a goal kick.
    • 59'
Eto'o and Lukaku combine for the first time in the second half as the latter's lay-off is struck goalwards from 20 yards by the former Barcelona man, but his effort is straight at Heaton who holds on well.
    • 61'
Jagielka has been excellent today and again gets the better of Ings as the striker looked to take advantage of a poor touch from Alcaraz. No way through for Burnley as yet.
    • 63'
      S. Ward goes into the referee's book.
    • 63'
Coleman is able to get forward on the right-hand side after a quiet first hour, and Ward goes into the referee's book for a pull on the Ireland full-back.
    • 64'
GOOD SAVE! From the resulting free-kick, Baines curls in a cross from deep that evades everyone, with Heaton having to be aware enough to turn it behind.
    • 65'
SI R. Barkley SO L. Baines
    • 65'
SI A. Barnes SO L. Baines
    • 65'
      A. Barnes comes on for L. Jutkiewicz.
    • 65'
      R. Barkley enters play, replacing R. Lukaku.
    • 65'
Both teams make their first changes of the afternoon as Barkley and Barnes replace Lukaku and Jutkiewicz respectively. There are 25 minutes for them to make the difference.
    • 67'
We are into the final quarter of the game as Burnley begin to enjoy a little more possession. Dyche's team will have to throw more men forward, you feel, if they are to get anything from this game.
    • 69'
Barkley manages to get Baines in behind on the left-hand side, but the defender's cross is a poor one and is cleared at the near post. The Toffees have not been as threatening in the second period.
    • 71'
The home fans have raised the volume as they look to inspire their team towards an equaliser in this second half. They have struggled to get going in the second period.
    • 72'
Naismith looks to create some room for himself on the edge of the area but his shot is deflected and has all the power taken out of it for Heaton to save.
    • 74'
      A. Barnes goes into the referee's book.
    • 74'
Barnes is the fourth Burnley player to go into the book as he catches Barry in the middle of the park. The former Manchester City man will need some treatment after that.
    • 76'
Barry has returned to his feet and Everton are back to 11 men after a brief period of having a numerical disadvantage. The visitors have done well to stay as solid as they have in the second period.
    • 78'
Boyd wins a free-kick on the right-hand side as Burnley look to create something in this second half. Howard has not been tested since Ing's equaliser after 20 minutes.
    • 80'
As the game enters the final ten minutes of normal time, much of the play is now taking place in the Everton half. The Goodison Park outfit could yet pay for not putting this game to bed.
    • 81'
Arfield looks to drive the home side forward before feeding Barnes, but the striker runs straight into Alcaraz. The Everton defender holds firm to win the ball back.
    • 82'
SI S. Pienaar SO L. Baines
    • 82'
      L. Osman is replaced with S. Pienaar.
    • 82'
Everton make their second change of the afternoon as Pienaar replaces Osman for the closing stages. Burnley are readying some changes themselves.
    • 83'
Arfield finds space around 25 yards from goal but the midfielder rushes his shot and drags it well wide of the post. Still no clearcut opportunities for the home side.
    • 84'
SI M. Sordell SO L. Baines
    • 84'
      M. Kightly is done for the day. M. Sordell is his replacement.
    • 84'
The first of those Burnley changes is made as Sordell replaces Kightly for the last few minutes. The home side may well go with three up front in pursuit of an equaliser now.
    • 85'
      G S. Eto'o Assist L. Baines
    • 85'
      S. Pienaar gave the assist.
    • 85'
GOAL!!! ETO'O MAKES IT 3-1! Absolutely brilliant from the veteran striker! He picks up the ball 25 yards from goal before turning and curling a sublime finish around Heaton and into the corner. Should be all over now.
    • 86'
SI N. Chalobah SO L. Baines
    • 86'
      N. Chalobah comes on for G. Boyd.
    • 87'
JUST OVER! Almost a way back for Burnley as Ings beats Jagielka to the ball before racing into the box. He has time to shoot as Howard goes to ground, but his shot is always too high.
    • 89'
GOOD SAVE! Naismith has been quiet this afternoon but almost finds the net as he skips past two challenges before going for goal. Heaton does well to tip the ball behind at his near post.
    • HALF TIME
    • 90'
OFF THE POST! So close to a hat-trick for Eto'o as he nips in and takes the ball around Heaton. The angle is very tight, but the forward does brilliantly to hit the post with his placed effort. He has been excellent today.
    • 45'
We're into two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half. Everton may well look to sit back and hold onto their lead as the break approaches.
    • 90'
Into four minutes of stoppage time and Sordell cuts inside before driving straight at Howard. Burnley have put in plenty of effort but have not quite had the cutting edge in the final third.
