That's all from me, Keeghann Sinanan here, signing off and wishing you all the best.

Les Bleus clinch a deserved victory thanks to a late free-kick from Valbuena. The French were the better side on the night, creating the majority of chances. Portugal's miserable streak against France continues, while Deschamps' men get back to winning ways after two straight defeats.

Half-time in Lisbon and no goals as yet between Portugal and France. The Euro 2016 hosts have looked the stronger side even after losing Fekir to injury early, with Patricio saving what should have been an opener from Matuidi. Portugal have suffered a casualty of their own with Carvalho bloodied up

It's an identical number of changes for Deschamps after the defeat to Albania two months ago. Laurent Koscielny comes in to partner Raphael Varane at the back, while his former Arsenal teammate Bacary Sagna displaces Mamadou Sakho in the back line for a half-century of caps. Paul Pogba is also back

Fernando Santos has rung the changes from that match against Italy, with eight new players in the XI. Real Madrid pair Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe headline the returning contingent, with Nani also starting after enjoying a new lease of life on loan at Fenerbahce. Veteran Ricardo Carvalho also comes b

These two teams last squared off in October, where France clinched a 2-1 triumph thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Paul Pogba. In fact, Portugal have lost five straight against Les Bleus by an overall score of 11-2. However, since that reverse in October, the Seleccao have won seven of their ei

It seems that idle hands have worked against France. Shorn of the pressure of qualifying for the Euros, Les Bleus have dropped three of their last four, including back-to-back losses agains Belgium and Albania in June. Coach Didier Deschamps has called for renewed agression and momentum for this cla

Portugal are in good form heading into this match, with their last outing a 1-0 win against Italy in a friendly that also marked Antonio Conte's first defeat as Azzurri coach. The Seleccao top Group I of the Euro qualifiers and are assured of at least a play-off berth at this point, but will be expe

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the international friendly between Portugal and France. The Euro 2016 hosts have no qualifiers to worry about, and visit the 2004 runners-up in Lisbon in what looks like an intriguing matchup. I'm Keeghann Sinanan, your guide for all the action.
    • 1'
      And we are off!
    • 3'
France are trying to force Portugal off the ball and not let them dictate the game in the early exchanges. However, they are forced into some early defending when Sagna bundles the ball away to halt Ronaldo's advance.
    • 5'
Sissoko and Matuidi provide plenty of energy in the middle of the park, but the former, after holding off an attacker and advancing out of the back, sells the latter short with his pass and gifts possession right back to Portugal.
    • 7'
France are starting to string some passes together, although admittedly, its mostly among the members of their back four. They've tried to activate Fekir more than once down the right, but so far, Eliseu has dealt with the danger of the Lyon youngster without too much concern.
    • 9'
Pereira does excellently to skip past an attempted challenge from Cabaye with one lengthy stride. He spots Eder making a diagonal run into the centre of the box, but his high pass is too ambitious and is swept away by Koscielny, who arrived ahead of the striker.
    • 11'
Sagna plays a great ball over the top for Sissoko, who catches Eliseu out of position, and advances down the right. He drills a low ball into the six-yard area for Benzema to attack, but Pepe gets there first!
    • 13'
Nani just about beats his man to the byline and hangs a cross into the area, but its over the head of Ronaldo and away from danger on the far side. Meanwhile, there's trouble here as Fekir goes down off the ball injured.
    • 14'
SI A. Griezmann SO N. Fekir
    • 14'
      A. Griezmann enters play, replacing N. Fekir.
    • 15'
A sorry end to a full international debut for Fekir. He is withdrawn, with Deschamps taking no chances with his fitness and introducing Griezmann in his place. The experiment lasted barely a quarter of an hour.
    • 17'
Eliseu gets a HUGE slice of luck. Matuidi initially did excellently to rescue a ball from going over the byline and hook a cross into the area. Griezmann's presence causes panic, and the full-back mis-controlled the ball...right into Patricio's arms. Another referee could have deemed that a back-pas
    • 19'
Eliseu tries to make amends down at the other end with an overlapping run, but he's caught in the face my Sissoko, leading to a free-kick for Portugal. The ball is whipped into the box but France are able to clear.
    • 21'
      P. Evra is cautioned by the referee.
    • 21'
Eliseu is starting to get exposed down the flank now. He's having a far more difficult time coping with the late runs of Sissoko, who has been France's principal threat down the right after Fekir's departure. The Newcastle man drives forward and hooks a deep cross for Benzema at the back post, but a
    • 23'
Evra goes in hard on Nani and picks up a yellow-card for that challenge on his former team-mate. Next up for the Juventus defender is an accidental stud to the face of Carvalho, which instantly starts spouting blood and needs immediate attention from the physios.
    • 25'
For the third time in this match, Sissoko makes inroads down the right thanks to Griezmann's pass. He once again chooses to cross, but Benzema doesn't get near it in the end.
    • 27'
SI José Fonte SO N. Fekir
    • 27'
José Fonte comes on for Ricardo Carvalho.
    • 27'
Carvalho has been on the sidelines getting patched up since his wound, but it appears that he won't be able to continue here. The numbers are up on the touchline and Jose Fonte has replaced him. An early sub for each team now.
    • 29'
There's been a decent back-and-forth tempo to this one despite the lack of goalscoring chances, but I rate France's efforts so far as the more threatening, as they've been able to exploit space better in the final third.
    • 31'
SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE OPENER! France carve Portugal apart in their own defensive third, and the ball breaks for Matuidi at the top of the box. He surges past his man, which leaves him one-on-one with Patricio, but his finish is too close to the keeper and is saved with an outstretched leg!
    • 33'
Portugal's three-man midfield is looking out-numbered and out-foxed against the quartet from France. Still, they haven't been able to get Benzema involved much in the game so far though.
    • 35'
Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, has been restricted in the opening 35 minutes, not registering a glimpse on goal yet. In fact, that rings true for the entire Portugal team, who are short of ideas up front.
    • 37'
Another sight of goal for the French, who have Sagna putting in work down the flank. The Manchester City man aims the ball to the far post where Benzema and Matuidi are stationed, but the latter's volley is off the mark.
    • 39'
Free-kick opportunity for Portugal though, about 35 yards from goal. It's central enough for a shooting chance, and there's only one man standing over it. Can Ronaldo finally get involved?
    • 41'
SAVE FOR LLORIS! The France keeper is called into action for the first time to beat away a bouncing set-piece from Ronaldo. To be honest, it would have been a gaffe on his part had he allowed that once to slip past him. First shot on target for Portugal.
    • 43'
A decent little spell from Portugal towards the end of this game, but France are still dealing with their attacks without too much trouble. Far too often, the Seleccao's advances end with an isolated man double or triple-teamed on the flanks.
    • 45'
Portugal end the half in possession and Ronaldo tries to embark on a run from 35 yards, but Sissoko and Cabaye are hounding him. However, the Newcastle man falls for a feint and challenges the Seleccao captain late, leading to a decent free-kick chance.
    • 46'
SI M. Schneiderlin SO N. Fekir
    • 46'
      Y. Cabaye is replaced with M. Schneiderlin.
    • 46'
      Here we go again!
    • 48'
One change to round up from the break, as Cabaye is replaced by Schneiderlin in a like-for-like substitution. That's two subs already used by Deschamps with half the game left - though there's four more available thanks to friendly rules.
    • 50'
THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE OPENER! Pogba and Griezmann combine to free the substitute on goal, but the ball is shifted onto his weaker right foot and as a result, Patricio is able to save his finish!
    • 52'
It seems that we're in for a bit more of an open second half so far, with France continuing to find pockets of space in dangerous areas, while Portugal are looking to build on the ball.
    • 54'
Schneiderlin has been assured in his short period on the pitch, and he threads the needle to find Benzema in a great position inside the box. He squares up to curl it in with his right, but it's right down the throat of the keeper.
    • 56'
The tempo has slowed down somewhat from the opening minutes of the second half but Santos must doubtless be concerned that France were able to get in behind twice since the restart.
    • 58'
Portugal try to activate Ronaldo once again, but he's no match for Schneiderlin, who gets help from a team-mate and wins the ball off the Seleccao skipper. He's not had a happy outing.
    • 60'
Some more substitutions here for Portugal. First, Adrien Silva puts an end to his evening as he jogs off for Miguel Veloso. Next out of the pipeline is Cedric, who replaces Vieirinha at right-back.
    • 61'
SI Cédric Soares SO N. Fekir
    • 61'
SI Miguel Veloso SO N. Fekir
    • 61'
Vieirinha is replaced with Cédric Soares.
    • 61'
Adrien Silva is done for the day. Miguel Veloso is his replacement.
    • 62'
Early spell on the ball for Cedric, who overlaps down the right and is found by Nani. However, the substitute can't get the ball past the first defender. It's been a recurring theme for Portugal in this game.
    • 64'
Better from Portugal in recent minutes, as they've kept France penned back in their own half. Still, goalmouth action is hard to come by. There's a growing sense that the opener, if it is to arrive, will decide this game.
    • 66'
Griezmann's poor delivery is seized upon by Portugal, who have Ronaldo leading the charge on the break. He can't do it all on his own though, and the ball is worked to Nani, who misses the target.
    • 67'
SI Ricardo Quaresma SO N. Fekir
    • 67'
Cristiano Ronaldo is done for the day. Ricardo Quaresma is his replacement.
    • 68'
That was the last action of the game for Ronaldo, who departs the match. On comes Quaresma, who was once on the same wavelength as the Portugal captain as a youngster. Their careers could not have gone any differently.
    • 70'
Danilo Pereira receives a yellow card.
    • 70'
Benzema is pulled back cynically by Danilo, leading to a yellow card for the defensive midfielder. Free-kick in a position of promise for Les Bleus. Portugal take time to set up their wall.
    • 72'
Benzema completes his run up and lets loose with a fine strike from about 30 yards. It goes over the wall and looks set to dip just under the crossbar, but Patricio is well positioned and helps it over the bar.
    • 74'
SI A. Martial SO N. Fekir
    • 74'
      K. Benzema is done for the day. A. Martial is his replacement.
    • 74'
That's the end of the night for Benzema, but all the attention is devoted to the man coming on as his replacement. Anthony Martial, the most expensive teenager ever, comes on for his international debut. Fans all across the world are eager to see more of the new Manchester United signing.
    • 76'
Eliseu hoists a ball into the box from the left but Eder, who has been awful tonight, can't guide his header into a threatening position. Portugal have really struggled to find a good striker for the longest while.
    • 78'
I'm hugely relieved that this match isn't a tournament game susceptible to extra time. There's precious little in terms of goalmouth action, although France are making a conscious effort to get Martial involved.
    • 80'
SI M. Valbuena SO N. Fekir
    • 80'
      SI Danny SO N. Fekir
    • 80'
      M. Valbuena enters the game and replaces M. Sissoko.
    • 80'
Danny enters the game and replaces João Mário.
    • 80'
Perfect timing from Lloris, who races just outside his box to slide onto the ball ahead of Eder. The ball rebounds off the striker and out for a throw. A glimpse of a chance for Portugal there for a second.
    • 82'
I really can't pick out a single player who has truly shone on the night. Sissoko is probably my pick for man of the match at this point, as he's expended a lot of energy on both ends of the pitch.
    • 84'
There's a dangerous free-kick chance for France here as Fonte gets pulled up for a foul on Griezmann. Now then, this is in near-perfect shooting range, just left of centre, 20 yards out...
    • 85'
      G M. Valbuena Assist N. Fekir
    • 85'
SI Bernardo Silva SO N. Fekir
    • 85'
Bernardo Silva comes on for Danilo Pereira.
    • 85'
VALBUENA MAKES IT COUNT! A tremendous strike from the substitute, who marks his introduction in style. He curls his effort over the wall and into the back of the net, with Patricio having no chance.
    • 87'
Suddenly Portugal feel a sense of urgency. A corner is challenged with some might by Eder, but Lloris punches it clear. Quaresma resets with another delivery from the sidelines, but it's got too much on it.
    • 88'
SI O. Giroud SO N. Fekir
    • 88'
      A. Griezmann is replaced with O. Giroud.
    • 89'
Olivier Giroud, who has really struggled for goals with Arsenal recently, is thrown on for the closing stages, presumably to help out when defending set-pieces from Portugal, who are relying on an aerial game late on.
    • 90'
It's all over! France have taken the win.
    • 45'
Ronaldo teases the set-piece into the penalty area for Pepe at the back post, but the offside flag is up. That may just about do it for the first half as Lloris takes his time to restart the game from the free-kick.
    • 90'
Not a whole lot happening in the dying embers of this patch for Portugal. There was a glimmer of hope when they bombarded the box with crosses and corners, but France have figured out how to counter it.
