Lucio and Gilberto have been ruled out of the Brazil squad ahead of the international friendly against Algeria in midweek.

Brazil's defence has been hit after Bayern Munich's Lucio picked up a knee injury while Gilberto, who plays for Hertha Berlin, has injured his shin.

Coach Dunga has called up Sao Paulo defender Miranda while the Brazilian Football Confederation have not confirmed yet whether a replacement for Gilberto will be named.

Juan and Luisao have already been ruled out out by Dunga due to injuries.

Recently-crowned Copa America champions Brazil will meet the Africans in Montpellier, as a warm-up to the 2010 World Cup qualifiers that kick-off in October.
