Lemina loss leaves Gourcuff unhappy

Lorient coach Christian Gourcuff was left fuming by Mario Lemina's deadline-day move to Marseille, insisting he did not agree to the deal.

The 20-year-old midfielder has progressed through the youth ranks with Les Merlus but made the switch to Stade Velodrome, in a move sanctioned by Lorient president Loic Fery.

Gourcuff, who has managed the Ligue 1 side for the past 10 seasons - but whose contract is due to expire next year - was disappointed to hear Fery had completed the deal without any discussion and says going behind his back shows a lack of respect.

He told L'Equipe: "The club can not speak of ambitions when it sells its best players.

"This transfer is just business. I want people to know that I am not complicit in this decision.

"I suffered. Somehow, it is a lack of respect from my office, and my past in Lorient."
