A stunning five-goal haul from Luka Jovic helped Eintracht Frankfurt hammer promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf 7-1 and leapfrog Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich into sixth place in the table.
The home side were aided by a controversial penalty, converted by Sebastian Haller, to open the scoring but two from Jovic made the points safe before half-time.
Dodi Lukebakio briefly reduced the deficit after Haller had added another but Jovic struck three more in an emphatic victory.
The winning margin lifts Frankfurt into the European spots on goal difference ahead of Bayern, who visit Wolfsburg this weekend when leaders Borussia Dortmund go to Stuttgart.
Fortuna have lost four in a row and slipped to the bottom of the table on goal difference.
Their wait for a win at Eintracht Frankfurt dates from 1980.
