Andries Jonker has been appointed as the coach and technical director of Gouden Gids Divisie outfit MVV. He has signed a contract for three seasons.
It will be the second job of Jonker's coaching career after a stint with Volendam, and he takes over from Jan van Deinsen.
Jonker, who worked with Louis van Gaal at Barcelona, believes that MVV's fortunes can be revived, despite sitting 18th in the Gouden Gids Divisie.
He said: "I watched them before the winter break and became enthusiastic immediately.
"The club is at the bottom of the Gouden Gids Divisie and still the fans are behind them 100%. Believe me, that is something you don't see at Telstar or Haarlem."
