The Australian Under 17's have defeated the Solomon Islands 3-1 in their first game of the Oceania qualifying tournament for the FIFA Under-17 World Championship.
The Joeys were 2-0 up within 15 minutes at the Maroochydore Regional Soccer Centre, Richie Cardozo scoring a superb individual goal in the third minute.
Adam Casey doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 15th minute.
The home side were awarded another penalty a few minutes before half-time, which striker Matt Hilton converted to make it 3-0.
The Solomon Islands scored a consolation goal late in the game when Richard Anisua headed home.
The Joeys next match in Group B is against Tahiti on Monday afternoon.
