Iraq hits back to stun England

England was denied a first FIFA U-20 World Cup victory in 16 years as Iraq grabbed an injury-time equaliser in a 2-2 draw in Antalya.

Peter Taylor's side seemed sure to end that desperate statistic when Luke Williams added to Conor Coady's first-half opener.

But Ali Faez pulled one back from the spot 15 minutes from time, setting up a pulsating finale which saw Ali Adnan snatch a point for the underdog.

Also in Group E, 10-man Chile came from behind to beat Egypt 2-1, Christian Bravo scoring the winner in the 76th for the South American team.

Uzbekistan downed New Zealand 3-0 thanks to an inspired performance from midfielder Abbosbek Makhstaliev, who scored one goal and set up another in the Group F match.

The Asian runner-up scored when Igor Sergeeve's shot was blocked by goalkeeper Max Crocombe, only for Makhstaliev to tap in the rebound in the 14th minute. Makhstaliev then passed to Sergeeve, who scored in the 53rd.

Uzbekistan added a third in the 67th when Diyorjon Turapov's shot deflected off midfielder Tim Payne and over Crocombe.

Croatia missed a penalty but still defeated Uruguay 1-0. Marko Livaja missed from the spot midway through the first half, but Ante Rebic's goal on 41 minutes settled things.
