Ciro Immobile's brace helped Lazio go fourth in Serie A with a comfortable 4-1 home win over SPAL.
The Italy international scored after 26 minutes before Mirco Antenucci levelled just two minutes later.
Immobile struck again before half-time with the help of a defender's deflection and now has eight goals, one less than league top scorer Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa.
Danilo Cataldi and Marco Parolo secured Lazio's win after the break and Immobile missed the chance of grabbing a hat-trick when his header came off the post.
Lazio are three points clear of AC Milan, who play later in the day at Udinese. SPAL are 15th.
"We had to react [after losing 3-0 to Inter Milan] and we did it with a vengeance," Immobile said.
"We need positive results for our morale. I am happy about the brace which came when the team needed it."
Andrea Belotti, another Italy international, also struck twice as Torino won 4-1 at Sampdoria.
Torino are currently seventh and Sampdoria are two points behind.
Sassuolo beat bottom side Chievo 2-0 to move level on points with AC Milan. Chievo had Strahinja Tanasijevic sent off in the closing minutes.
Parma and visiting Frosinone drew 0-0 in a newcomers clash as the hosts had Leo Stulac sent off on 61 minutes. Parma stay safely in mid-table while Frosinone are second last.
