Gyan at the double in Ghana win

Asamoah Gyan scored twice as 10-man Ghana beat Sudan 3-1 in Omdurman to go top of 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying Group D.

Al Ain striker Gyan fired the Black Stars ahead inside 20 minutes but Sudan was level on the half-hour mark when Mudather El Tahir scored the penalty that followed Richard Kissi Boateng's dismissal.

Gyan restored Ghana's lead in the 56th minute and Sulley Muntari struck to make the points safe with seven minutes remaining at the Al-Merreikh Stadium.

Ghana leapfrogs Zambia into first place ahead of the Copper Bullets' meeting with Lesotho on Sunday afternoon (local time). Sudan, however, remains bottom with one point from four games.

Elsewhere, Libya and Congo DR could not be separated as they played out a goalless draw in Tripoli.

The point was enough to move Libya into joint first place with Cameroon - which plays Togo in Lome on Sunday afternoon (Monday morning AEST) - while Congo DR remains third in Group I.
