Guangzhou storms into ACL semi-finals

Marcello Lippi's Guangzhou Evergrande went into its AFC Champions League quarter-final second leg clash at Lekhwiya 2-0 ahead and ended the night with a 6-1 aggregate win after a thrilling performance.

Dario Conca put it ahead (15) and Elkeson added a second inside the minute. Luiz Muriqui then made it three and, although Nam Taa-hee pulled one back, Elkeson had the final word.

Dejan Damjanovic's dramatic winner a minute from time put FC Seoul into the semi-finals of the ACL for the first time in its history.

Damjanovic, who got Seoul's goal in the first-leg 1-1 draw with Al Ahly, got the only goal of the second leg with seconds remaining as it advanced with a 2-1 aggregate win.

Iranian champion Esteghal is also through after a 2-1 win away to Buriram United completed a 3-1 aggregate victory.

Buriram levelled the tie when Osmar Barba headed it in front on the night in the 38th minute.

But Hanif Omranzadeh restored Esteghal's advantage early in the second half and Andranik Teymourian's long-range effort sealed it late on.

Kashiwa Reysol make up the final four after a 2-2 draw at Al Shabab earned it progression on away goals after the tie ended 3-3 on aggregate.

Masato Kudo put Reysol ahead overall (15) but Haif Hazazi quickly got the home side level (19).

But Naoya Kondo would score what proved to be the crucial goal with 15 minutes left, rendering Hassan Muath Fallatah's equaliser worthless.
