The payment which was originally due on April 15 had been withheld by the broadcaster but reports that 'football industry sources confirmed' the money had been transferred.

While it's welcome news for the cash-strapped competition, exactly when players and staff will receive their part of that money is unclear.

The report also stated that there is no guarantee that Fox Sports will continue to broadcast the A-League for the remaining three years of the original contract.

Meanwhile, when the A-League will return is yet to be confirmed but

The national cabinet will make a decision on relaxing national restrictions next Friday, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison saying "Australians have earned an early mark".
