Celtic high five as Barca beckons

Celtic warmed up for its UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona with a 5-0 thrashing of St Mirren in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

Goals from Gary Hooper and Efe Ambrose, then Victor Wanyama's double, gave an under-strength Hoops side an unassailable interval lead against sorry-looking Saints.

Tony Watt scored with four minutes remaining to seal a commanding victory, which manager Neil Lennon would have wanted ahead of its Group G clash with Barcelona on Wednesday (AEDT).

Hooper told ESPN: "I thought first half with four goals we were really good.

"I thought in the second half we created but didn't take them but in the end we got three points."

He also revealed manager Neil Lennon had urged them not to look ahead to facing Barca, saying: "He said 'get three points, you are here to play well'.

"Now we have got a big game on Tuesday."
