Bnei Yehuda in the box seat

Israel's Bnei Yehuda will take a 1-0 lead into next week's UEFA Europa League third-qualifying round second leg against Swedish side Helsingborg.

Helsingborg lost Rachid Bouaouzan to an early injury and was grateful to goalkeeper and captain Par Hansson for saves from Shalev Menashe and Pini Balili, before Pedro Galvan scored the only goal four minutes before half-time.

Hansson kept out Galvan's free-kick and the Swedish side finally threatened through Ardian Gashi's free-kick and Marcus Holgersson's effort, but it could not find an away goal while Nenad Marinkovic and Galvan drew further saves from Hansson at the other end.
