the 32-year-old Melbourne Victory striker has signed a contract with the J-League side and will leave the reigning A-League Champions to lead the line for the current Japenese league leaders
Melbourne Victory confirmed Berisha's departure on Friday with the striker already travelling to japan to undergo a medical with his new club.
The Kosovo international is on contract at Victory until June 2019 but has been rumoured to have been considering a new challenge after claiming his fourth A-League title last season.
Berisha broke through as an A-League star under current Yokohama F Marinos boss Ange Postecoglou during his time as coach of the Brisbane Roar.
A marquee move to Melbourne Victory followed for Berisha where he quickly instilled himself as one of the club’s most valuable players helping them to two A-League Championships, a Premiers Plate and the FFA Cup.
He has scored a record 116 A-League goals including 68 in 110 appearances for Victory.
It is believed Berisha will make his debut for his new club on July 18 against Gamba Osaka after the J-League returns from its summer break.
