Tom Rogic showed no lingering injury concerns as he helped Celtic to a 5-0 thrashing of a Hearts team featuring fringe Socceroos Ben Garuccio and Oliver Bozanic.

League leaders Hearts went into the match hoping they could stretch their advantage at the top of the competition.

However, reigning champions Celtic had other ideas with Rogic the conductor for the Hoops as they piled on five goals.

Rogic was unable to stretch his run of three goals in the past four games for Celtic but did have a few good chances on goal in a solid 90 minute performance.

It was a different story for Bozanic and Garuccio.

Both were on the bench for the clash with only Garuccio seeing action when he was introduced early in the second half.

It was a busy day in Scotland for Australian players with three Socceroos lining-up for Hibernian in their game against St Johnstone.

Mark Milligan, Martin Boyle and Jamie Maclaren all played 90 minutes for Hibs but they weren't able to come away with the win as St Johnstone snatched victory with a 90th minute goal.

Jack Iredale was the best performer of the Aussies in Scotland scoring a goal and providing two assists for Greenock Morton as they defeated Partick Thistle 5-1.

In England Mat Ryan had a day to forget with his Brighton side going down 3-1 on the road to Everton.

The results meant Ryan was unable to claim a historic fourth straight clean sheet.

A Richalison brace and a long range effort from Seamus Coleman was the difference as the Blues snatched all three points from the visiting Seagulls.

Elsewhere in England, Massimo Luongo played a full 90 minutes in QPR's 1-0 loss to Blackburn, while Jackson Irvine and Ryan Willams also played the full match in winning performances for Hull City and Rotherham respectively.

In Germany it was a return to action for speedster Mathew Leckie as Hertha Berlin took on RB Leipzig.

Sadly it wasn't a great result for Hertha as they went down 3-0.

Robbie Kruse was a second half substitute for Bundesliga 2 outfit VFL Bochum as they shared the spoils with Greuther Furth.

PSV continued their winning ways in Holland but match action was not on the cards for Socceroos defenders Trent Sainsbury and Aziz Behich who were unused substitutes in the 1-0 win against Vitesse.

Danny Vukovic helped Genk to a 1-1 draw against Club Brugge in what was a top of the table clash.

Genk remain unbeaten this season.

Milos Degenek's Red Star Belgrade also had that winning feeling as they stretched their record to 14 wins from 15 games witha 2-0 victory against Protler Novai Sad.

Aussies were also in action overnight across the top Asian leagues.

Mitch Langerak was on the wrong side of a Andreas Iniesta and Lukas Podolski masterclass as the Australian shot stopper's Nagoya Grampus lost 2-1 to Vissel Kobe.

Podolski scored both of Kobe's goals including one set up by a brilliant assist from Iniesta.

Nagoya have plenty of work to do if they are to avoid relegation as they currently stand only a point clear of the bottom three with three games in hand.

The overnight J-League matches also included time on the pitch for Socceroos striker Andrew Nabbout who came off the bench in Urawa Red Diamond's 3-1 loss to Gamba Osaka.

Ange Postecoglou's Yokohama F Marinos also lost going down 1-0 to Tokyo FC.

Brad Jones was injured as his Al Nassr side lost 2-0 to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

While finally Aussie duo Jack Duncan and Rhys Williams played the full 90 minutes in Al Qadsiah's 2-0 loss to Al Hilal.
