Australian Gabriel Cleur played the full match as his Serie C side Virtus Entella dramatically dumped Serie A side Genoa out of the Coppa Italia in a penalty shootout after a thrilling 3-3 draw in the round-of-32.

Entella, based in Chiavari, a seaside town lying east of Genoa in the same province of the Liguria region, then went on to win 7-6 in the shootout.

Italian media reports Genoa coach Ivan Juric has been sacked in the aftermath, with former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli understood to be replacing him.

This was Croatian coach Juric's third spell in charge of the club, having most recently been reinstated less than two months ago.

He has had a tough run of fixtures and hasn't won a match.
