Birmingham have played the fewest matches of any WSL club this season amid ground issues such as waterlogging and being frozen solid.

Birmingham confirmed the relocation of the match was done in consultation with the FA, but the club's manager Carla Ward was perhaps not involved, having expressed "shock" at the late notice.

“I still don’t understand what’s going on,” said Ward.

“I was given 45 minutes prior to tell the players and staff.

"I was shocked that I had had no time to digest. I’m really thankful to the FA for helping find a solution to our fixture congestion.”

A statement from the FA claimed the facilities at Birmingham's home ground were not up to scratch.

“The decision was taken by the League’s Executive Operations Committee (EOC) due to Birmingham’s current home ground at Solihull Moors FC not meeting requirements in the Rules and Regulations of the League,” it said.
