Federici 'best goalkeeper in the A-League', says Bulls boss

Macarthur director Sam Krslovic thinks the players brought in from overseas by his club have been superb - none more so than Adam Federici, for whom he reserved the highest praise.

When asked by The World Game's Lucy Zelic where he though the Bulls might improve, Krslovic reminded that patience was needed with the newly-assembled squad.

"When you say 'improvements', it's hard," he said on Wednesday’s episode of #TWGLIVE.

"We've got 23 players who have never kicked a ball together.

"So cohesion is always going to be a gelling factor, and it'll take time."

Instead, Krslovic pointed to the many positives, highlighting the excellent performances of the players recruited from overseas and making a rather large claim about ex-Socceroos 'keeper Federici.

"I think we underestimated what it's like to have a player like Beñat in the A-League," he said.

"We've also got Matty Derbyshire - and the biggest one for me is Adam Federici.

"Not only is Adam the best goalkeeper in the A-League at the moment, I can't think of anyone who's been better in the history of the A-League."
"I must say," I love Clint Bolton but I think Adam's a bit better," Krslovic added with a smile and wink.

"Anyway, everyone's got their own opinion, but to have a guy who's a great role model in terms of Adam - you know, went overseas at 16, virtually camped to get a contract - then coming to the A-League and playing like he has been is phenomenal.

Looking beyond their own backyard, Krslovic thinks the standard of overseas recruitment has risen across the league.

"We're not the only club," he continued.

"In terms of the standard of the A-League, I think the type of foreigners we've got in this year as a whole is a lot better than it's been for a long, long time.

Macarthur are sixth on the A-League ladder after five games, level with defending champions Sydney FC on seven points.
