Optus secures Premier League rights until 2022

Optus Sport has secured the rights to the Premier League for a further three years until May 2022, while revealing some of their plans for their coverage of the FIFA World Cup.

Optus will show every Premier League match until 2022 across their platforms as part of a subscription service.

Under the current deal, which started in 2016, SBS shows one Premier League match per round.

Optus also revealed that they will open access to non-subscribers from May, with a $14.99 a month package that will allow users to watch all Premier League matches as well as all FIFA World Cup matches.

SBS will offer 25 premium FIFA World Cup matches all LIVE, FREE and in HD with exclusive commentary from Martin Tyler.

All 25 games will also be live streamed on The World Game website and the official World Cup app.

These games will include:

  • All Socceroos matches
  • The opening match of the tournament
  • The game of the day every day
  • Two quarter-finals, the semi-finals and final
All 64 games will also be available LIVE on SBS Radio.
