With a new bolter seemingly pinpointed with each passing week during the countdown to this month’s friendlies against Norway and Colombia and the FIFA World Cup, Yeboah, 23, is more concerned with helping the German 3.Liga promotion chasers seal a return to the second tier.
On loan from Borussia Monchengladbach until the end of the season, the ex-Brisbane Roar rookie has it all to do to attract the eye of Socceroos coach Bert van Marwijk, with Australia’s opening group game against France in Russia just over three months away.
But he’s not stressing about that, instead insisting: “All I’m thinking about is the club, playing and winning every week.
“That’s the best thing you can do ... if you think about this and that it’s just too much.
“For me it’s just day to day and being grateful for the opportunity I have here.”
Long touted as a Socceroo-in-the-making, the lightning-quick Yeboah was unable to break into Gladbach’s starting line-up despite being handed a senior squad number this season.
The January move to the North Rhine club which graced the Bundesliga for a season in 2013-14, offers a chance he is out to make the most of as he switches from striker to winger.
“They’ve been playing me on the right wing, while at Gladbach I was a number nine,” he said.
“It’s something to get used to but I’m fine with that.
“It’s good for me that I can be moved around. It will help me add that versatility to my game.
“I’m feeling good here at a club that’s full of promise and quality- and the important thing is that I’m playing in professional football, and not sitting on a bench in the Bundesliga.
“I’m not going to try and compare the quality with Gladbach, but we are not that far away.
“I’m hoping this can be a bit of a breakthrough period for me, especially in this team because we’re in a good position and in the eye.
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s perfect. It’s great to be here on loan until May.”
Yeboah, who has made three league appearances to date, was robbed of the chance to face Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal last month - injuring his ankle in the warm up after being named in the starting line-up.
“The pitches are bad at the moment, and my foot hit a massive hole. There are no words for missing out on the chance to face Bayern,” he said.
