Crawley have gone from strength to strength in recent months with Sunday's victory the side's eighth win in the past ten matches.

The result has moved Kewell's side within touching distance of a promotion playoff berth with 12 matches to play.

Crawley dominated the first half but could only take a 1-0 lead into the break before finding their shooting boots in the second stanza.

The former Liverpool and Leeds winger praised his Crawley team's performance and told the Crawley Obserber his side '1000 per cent' deserved to win.

“We were a bit annoyed we didn’t go in two or three goals up (in the first half) but we came back out and knew exactly what they were going to do," Kewell said.

“They started off good but the attitude of my players to get the ball on the floor, control it and press from the front was excellent."

Kewell's side play Forrest Green next weekend as they continue their promotion push.

In the Championship it was a night of mixed results for Australia's players plying their trade in the English second tier.

Massimo Luongo played the full 90 minutes for QPR as they clinched a 2-0 win against Bolton Wanderers.

It was Luongo's first match back after recovering from a knee injury which has kept him out of the Rangers' line-up.
Tim Cahill made a late cameo and James Meredith played 90 minutes in Millwall's 1-0 victory on the road against Birmingham City.

Cahill was once again brought on as a late substitute for coach Neil Harris coming on in the 85th minute.
Meredith delievered a composed performance in defence for Millwall as they snatched the win with a 77th minute goal.

Socceroos captain Mile Jedinak didn't have as much luck as his compatriats with his Aston Villa side going down 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
