Liverpool fans were left sweating when giant sportswear manufacturer and Barcelona apparel sponsor Nike appeared to leak the blockbuster transfer via its online store.
Advertising customisation of Barca's 2017-18 kit, a caption read: "Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou. Get your 2017-18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician's name on it. Act fast – free personalisation only available until 6 January."
The Brazilian winger has been at the centre of months of transfer speculation with the Spanish giants and current La Liga leaders desperate to sign him.
Liverpool reportedly rejected three previous Barcelona bids for Coutinho during the summer transfer window, but according to the Daily Express the Reds have agreed to a monster £125 million (A$216 million) fee for the 25-year-old.
Coutinho was subbed off in the 89th minute of Liverpool's 2-1 win against Leicester CIty in what could be his final match for the Premier League club.
Nike has since deleted the page from their website.
The winter transfer window opens on January 1.
