Aussies Abroad: Wright's Bristol City make it four straight

Socceroos defender Bailey Wright delivered yet another solid showing as his Bristol City side edged Nottingham Forrest 2-1 to claim their fourth straight win and move a step closer to Premier League promotion.

Bristol City's Australian captain played 90 minutes in the victory in his preferred right back position and was a constant presence in attack and defence.

First half goals to Marlon Pack and Joe Bryan helped Bristol City confirm their spot in third place on the Championship ladder.

In other Championship action, Socceroos and Aston Villa captain Mile Jedinak made a surprise return to action after a shoulder injury during the Villains 2-0 loss to Derby County.
Playing in central defence, it was a less than ideal return for Jedinak who could do nothing to stop Villa going down 2-0.

Socceroos teammate Massimo Luongo had a better day with his QPR side topping fellow Championship battlers Birmingham City 2-1 thanks to a brace to Jack Robinson.

Fringe Socceroos defender James Meredith put in a full shift for Millwall as they edged further away from the relegation zone with a 2-1 win against Middlesbrough.

After scoring his first goal for his new club last week, Jackson Irvine was unable to add to his tally despite playing 90 minutes in Hull City's 1-0 loss to Cardiff.
