A sell-out crowd of 25,000 set a new record attendance for a FIFA match in New Zealand, but those fans failed to see a goal as both teams started their Group A campaign with a point each.

New Zealand will take on USA next while Ukraine goes up against Myanmar.

There are three other games on the opening day of the tournament, with USA taking on Myanmar in the other Group A game, while in Group B Argentina takes on Panama and Ghana meets Austria.
