Rueda wary of backlash

20 June 2010-PA Sport

Honduras coach Reinaldo Rueda is expecting to feel the full force of a Spanish backlash in Johannesburg.

The Central American country, which lost 1-0 to Chile in its first Group H game, faces a Spain side looking to bounce back from a shock defeat by the same score at the hands of Switzerland and re-establish its FIFA World Cup credentials.

Rueda said: "We should not be distracted by the result. As one of the favourites and having lost their first game, Spain will be even more determined.

"We rate Spain as highly after that match as we did before it. This result does not change our valuation of Spain and their qualities.

"That result means they will face us with greater intensity. We cannot let ourselves be distracted by that result.

"We cannot think the game will be easy. On the contrary, for me it will be more difficult."

Spain hero Andres Iniesta claims he never lost faith in achieving FIFA World Cup success, despite a frustrating season with injuries and a bad start for Vicente del Bosque's side in South Africa.
