Tahiti and New Caledonia recorded convincing wins as the second round of OFC's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying kicked off on Friday.
Lorenzo Tehau scored four in Tahiti's 10-1 demolition of Samoa in the Group A meeting at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.
Jonathan and Alvin Tehau grabbed doubles while Teaonui Tehau and Steevy Chong Hue added singles.
Samoa's consolation goal from Silao Malo made the score 6-1.
In the other Group A clash, New Caledonia accounted for Vanuatu 5-2 courtesy of a Bertrand Kai hat-trick, including the first two for his side.
Vanuatu was level at 1-1 and 2-2 after goals from Robert Tasso and Jean Naprapol before Georges Gope-Fenepej restored New Caledonia's advantage.
Strikes from Kai and Roy Kayara ended any chance of a Vanuatu comeback.
