Scotland arranges US friendly

16 February 2012-PA Sport

Scotland will play the United States in Florida at the end of the season, the Scottish Football Association confirmed.

Craig Levein's side will take on its host in Jacksonville on Saturday, 26 May, a week after the Scottish Cup final.

Scotland will end a training camp with a friendly against Jurgen Klinsmann's side at EverBank Field, the home of NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars.

Levein said: "Following the match against Slovenia in February, this provides another opportunity to get the group together ahead of the World Cup 2014 qualifiers in September.

"We will have an extended period together in May, with a training camp in the USA prior to the match on the 26th, which is very important as we prepare for the qualifiers.

"We're all looking forward to this match, which gives us a chance to test ourselves against a nation that is emerging as one of the top sides in world football."

The countries last met in 2005 at Hampden when Andy Webster scored Scotland's goal in a 1-1 draw. The previous meeting in the US was a goalless draw in Washington in 1998.
