Galaxy sinks Dallas

Juninho and Todd Dunivant scored as the reigning Major League Soccer champions Los Angeles Galaxy beat FC Dallas 2-0 to strengthen its grip on a play-off place.

Juninho opened the scoring after 66 minutes following good work by Jose Villarreal, and Dunivant finished off Dallas in the 84th minute.

LA stand fourth in the Western Conference, with Dallas eight points worse off in sixth place.

Sporting Kansas City was held 1-1 at home by the New York Red Bulls as Kei Kamara scored at both ends in the clash between the top two sides in the East.

Kamara opened the scoring after four minutes for Kansas, but then put through his own goal in the 28th minute. Both were headed goals.

Kansas lead New York by two points.
