Dunfield strikes late for Toronto

12 July 2012-PA Sport

Terry Dunfield headed the winner seconds from the end as Toronto FC overcame a late equaliser to beat Canadian rival Vancouver Whitecaps 3-2 in MLS.

Darren Mattocks put the Whitecaps ahead five minutes into the second half and, after Luis Silva (69) and Torsten Frings (72) turned the game in Toronto's favour, netted his second when Milos Kocic missed his punch in the 90th minute.

Moments later, though, former Whitecaps midfielder Dunfield rose to nod home Frings' corner and seal the victory.

The win, which was just Toronto's third of the season, was not enough to lift it off the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
