UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Lazio after its fans reportedly directed racial abuse at Tottenham Hotspur players during the UEFA Europa League match on Friday.
British media said monkey chants were directed at Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Andros Townsend during the 0-0 draw.
A UEFA statement on Friday read that proceedings have been opened against Lazio for "improper conduct" by its supporters and the case will be heard on 18 October 18.
Bulgarian club Levski Sofia said it had been fined 30,000 euro ($38,000) by UEFA for racist abuse by their fans at a Europe League match against Bosnian team Sarajevo in July.
